Is it ok to start a FAR Study Group? I retook Audit yesterday and although I don’t have a gut feeling either way if I passed or not, I am going to start on FAR. I am using Becker self-study and purchased the Ninja Notes for FAR.

I am looking forward to reading a/b everyone’s progression. Good Luck!

Hi! So I have taken FAR before and scored a 74 (worst score ever!) Anyways, when I received my score report I scored weaker in Specific Transactions and Sims. Of course I plan on studying everything again, but is there any advice on what to do to help with studying for Sims? I currently use Becker and I don't know if it really helped me in that area. Thanks!

And good luck to everyone studying!!

    AUD - Nov13 - 76
    BEC - Aug13 - 77
    FAR - Jan13 - 74, Apr13 - 74 bummer, Aug13 - 76 Finally!!
    REG - Nov12 - 82

    Whoooo hooo!!

@ Shan, I think you might have enough study material to go through already. But to answer your question specifically about the Wiley test bank – I think it is a great computer-based test bank if you like to answer questions on a computer screen; I prefer the Wiley book which should have about the same amount of questions in it.

@tncincy, yes the recommended mc questions is the assignment sheet.

Thought you all could offer some insight/advice into developing a game plan. I took FAR on 2/28 and got a 74. I used Becker and got through just about everything. As you Becker folks know, getting through all 10 chapters is EXTREMELY time consuming. I had two months (one of which was consumed with work travel) but still put in well over 100 hours. At the end of the day, I did not allow enough review time. I was just finishing up F9 with a week or so to go. I'm planning to retake FAR on April 1 because I have to take Reg at end of May (or I will lose BEC).

All that being said, with 3 weeks left until the retake, would you all say I just need a good thorough review and work as many MC as possible? I also didn't work as many SIMS as I should have given the time crunch. Wow, those are so hard to prepare for – total roll of the dice on test day for 40% of the exam.

    OMG I hate FAR!!!!!!

Only on basic concepts and every question is a jumbleyjargon of sh*t. And this is my third freaking time seeing it.

    Arggg…

    B 71 - 79 EXPIRED
    A 69 - 75 EXPIRED
    R 65 - 48 - 45
    F 56 - 61 - 65 - 64

Becker, Wiley Test Bank, Wiley Text and Ninja Notes

Experience - Done, like WAAAY done.
Still need 30 more credits, in basket weaving (gotta love new CA requirements)

Hustlin……we got this! It's like a treadmill. It's on full speed and ready to go. Jump on!

Whenever I get a word jumbleyjargon of sh*t question right, it's automatic dance party time.

(I would insert a tumbler gif, but honestly…..I have no idea how to do that!)

@nashville79, I am sure you will score much higher on the second time around. Some recommendations that may help:

    a) when you practice your MCs, try to do them quickly so you will be geared to be able to work them quickly on the exam to leave you more time for the sims.

    b) remember to use the research tab on the sims when you take your exam.

    c) if you want more practice with sims then you may consider purchasing the Wiley book (it is cheap ~$40). It has a lot of sims at the end of each chapter with detailed solutions.

@Carver7. Thanks. I definitely need to speed up my MC. Some of the Becker MC make it hard to do so, but I will plan to work more of the MC that seem more in line with what I've been exposed to on the exam. Good call – I definitely did not have enough time to adequately use the research tab for the SIMS. I got in the weeds on the first testlet as I wanted to make sure I got the harder 2nd testlet. As a general rule, you think about 2 hours should suffice for SIMS?
