Is it ok to start a FAR Study Group? I retook Audit yesterday and although I don’t have a gut feeling either way if I passed or not, I am going to start on FAR. I am using Becker self-study and purchased the Ninja Notes for FAR.

I am looking forward to reading a/b everyone’s progression. Good Luck!

Your thinking is correct; debiting an expense is recording the item to the Income Statement (P&L). A credit to OCI is actually reducing AOCI, not increasing it. Just as you said, you're reclassing an item from AOCI to RE by pulling it from OCI and putting it onto the P&L as an expense.

    Hope this helps!

The 4th test-let will have 1 SIM with 7 Tabs… that is 7 questions in test-let 4. For research…use it like the google search. I have seen that using “Advanced search” helps to reach the right answer faster…try using exact phrase then “search within”.

    FAR 72,71,81 🙂
    AUD 64,71, 72, 75 🙂 I'm done !!!
    REG 73, 74, 74, 84 🙂
    BEC 76 🙂

    Hey everyone,

I have scheduled to take FAR next Thursday. It will be my first CPA exam. Just tried doing MCQ's on Timing Issues, Chapter 2 and I feel like it is impossible for me to be able to ever get any of those right. Does anyone have any tips on how to nail these type of questions or from past experience are the exam questions in this section heavily tested and difficult?

Your help will be highly appreciated.

@Masarratsaleh Chapter 2 can be difficult and that is the reason why I felt like going back to it and I thought once I restudied for it, I got a good score on HW and then I did my progress test over 5 chapters including troubled Ch#2 and got 90. How do you mean that you are not having anything right? What is your percentage on MCQ homework?

    FAR - May 16th --- 83
    AUD - August 2nd --- 81
    BEC - December 2d --- 76
    REG - February 10th---77
    Ethics - February 23rd - 98

My 2nd attempt at FAR is this Monday, and I feel so burnt out. I dread coming home to sit in front of my computer working MCQs. Is anyone else in the same boat? I feel like quitting. I'm trying to motivate myself like I can pass this time, but I feel like my brain isn't retaining anything anymore 🙁

    BEC - 69, 66, 78 (exp), 82
    FAR - 69, 72, 66, 76
    REG - 64, 66, 72, 80
    AUD - 77
    Ethics - 95

@gchantur – Thanks, I think I am going to focus on the rest of the chapters and once I feel comfortable with the rest of the material I will revisit Chapter 2. I think my main confusion is all the timing issues and when to record expenses/prepayments. I get all of it muddled up! Hopefully I will manage to pass!

@Stay_Positive – I feel like quitting too but then I think of the joys of passing and I try stay motivated. Just remember it isn't going to last forever and you might as well make the most of the remaining few days before the exam. Goodluck – I hope it goes well!

    FAR – 4/18/2013

    BEC – End of May

    AUD – TBD

    RED – TBD

For anyone who has the FAR Wiley 2013 book. Pgs 65/66, Q's 39 & 49. Why is the treatment for payables different, especially in question 49?
