Is it ok to start a FAR Study Group? I retook Audit yesterday and although I don’t have a gut feeling either way if I passed or not, I am going to start on FAR. I am using Becker self-study and purchased the Ninja Notes for FAR.

I am looking forward to reading a/b everyone’s progression. Good Luck!

Hey everyone,

I'm new here and have been taking my notes like crazy. Just curious, but how long has it taken you to knock out your notes (first round)? I've done three chapters so far in one week, is that ok or am I moving too slow. I'm just anxious to start working problems! Good luck to everyone.

2 weeks and just F1 & F2

at that way you may be will finish F8 without reviewing

you really have to go faster and am warning you to feel the pressure and STUDY

Hey Mustpass… I found it to be very difficult to try and study while on a ‘vacation'. I just got back from an 11 day trip and told myself I would study every evening. I only l studied a little on two days! lol I'll be curious to see how you handle studying on your two trips.

I'm studying Leases right now and will move into deferred taxes next.

Ran into the same thing – was moving WAY too slow. For Becker at least, even 2 months to complete all the lectures/HW/SIMS is tough (for those of us who can't fall completely off the grid). Looking back after taking the exam, I'm not sure the time is best spent on those really long multiple choice questions – especially when there's 90+ for some sections. It's more important to cover the breadth of material. You could literally spend 4 hours on one section of one chapter of HW – not realistic. I say move on, give it some time to soak in and hit it again later and again during the review. You'll be seeing it again anyway.

@AnasAG After hearing about people getting through 3 chapters in a week, do I feel like a turtle. I was doing this thing in the past where I would just breeze through a chapter and not really going into detail on how to do calculations,etc. so I would feel like I had to learn some difficult material at the last minute. So I want to slow down this time.. but I agree with you. Really have to feel the pressure by now.

@ jpCPA you're not moving too slow IMO. You need to give new material some time to sink in.

@mia I just feel like I'm moving super slow with these notes and videos per the NINJA planner and with the exam coming up on May 8th I feel like I'm going to be writing notes all the way up until then. I can't even fathum re-writing them yet. 🙂

@jpCPA haha at first I was like “ohh you better hurry up studying because you're taking it on Apr 8 that's earlier than my date” but then I read again and it was May 8. lol you don't have to worry too much as nashville79 says!

Just wondering who all will be sidetracked tomorrow waiting for Wave 3 scores? I am waiting for auditing. I hope everyone's FAR studying is going fast and furious. I myself am having a hard time staying motivated….hoping a passing score tomorrow will kick my butt back into gear 🙂 I am taking Brad's advice (I also have five children and work full time…so he is my mentor right now) and watching all the videos first. This is taking forever bc I keep nodding off!! The last available day in May is what I will schedule…but the date is still getting too close for comfort!!
