Just took the exam and will be hititng the bars soon but I feel obliged to let you know how it went..considering how helpful you all have been.

The 1st testlet wasn't bad. Had a couple of questions that caught me off guard. Started the second testlet with a very easy question so I thought I did terrible on the first one…2 Questions in and the questions were significantly MUCH harder. Overall the MCQ were fair and I think the 2nd testlet did get harder but I could be wrong.

As for the sims..I have absolutely no words on how hard they were. Had 4 DRS sims with a ton of client supporting financial statements and had to make adjustments in worksheets. I think it would be doable in more time but damn this new test is unreal. Lets put it this way, even knowing everything on the sims now…I would still need a lot of time to digest all of the information and understand wtf was going on. Also, the topics I got tested on were basically not in my review material (hardly) and the one that was in the test material was worded completely different and impossible to relate to the material in the way they taught it.

I definitely think that there is going to have to be some type of curve with this new exam and based on what everyone is saying

@MTaylo ,YMMV but I am now referring my own notes as I able to cover wide area (90 miles/hour ) ,solving problems is allowing me to get speed of 35 Miles/hour.

@Wannafree sounds good…keep up the pace! I'm actually not in the testbank, All of the WRONG answers I got in Ninja, I copied to word, then converted to pdf, and now im analyzing the crap out of it using the adobe highlighting tools and sticky notes. I've probably covered about 300 questions today myself, plus 60 in Gleim. Keep on rolling scholar!

@Beantown23 correct! 8,000 * 5 ys = 40,000 then divide by .4 to get 100,000. Then add to the carrying amt of assets 1,000,000 to get 1,100,000

    is it D?

you take the $8,000/.40 = 20,000 to get to the total, then multiply it by the remaining 5 years, you get $100,000. Then add it to the $1m.

@SallyCPA Did you at least got the research question right? 4 DRS sounds brutal, with so much info all over the place. I guess the AICPA ain't kidding when they said that they were testing the high order stuff.

@sally that's the worst feeling… feeling so prepared then seeing the sims and just automatically get the wind knocked out of you. Damn this ones going to be rough. Taking it Tuesday

@Anthony Eh, I think it was like 50/50%. Could have gone either way. I didn't want to spend too much time on it so I put in a best answer.

I actually hate the DRS format and I think its a terrible way of testing. I understand they want to make it more real life formatted but someone could get a whole DRS right by simply guessing. Doesn't make much sense to me..

@sallycpa I had the same experience! I can't believe they expect us to even go through all these documents and solve the problem in just about 15 minutes:( I can't remember though if my questions got harder. I think maybe not….oh well, I am positive I didn't pass and now my Roger review expires. I have to see how I am going to study again for this test. Plus I wanted to start auditing.

the DRS in the AICPA sample test was too easy, and by the comments made about the exam I deff don't think there's any similarity.
