@TM535,It's really shocking that you did so well in Becker and feel bad in exam.Just wondering how it gone bad ? 80 on Becker's is good .Please share your experience with reference to Becker's materials.I feel Becker's is exhaustive.Did u trip on SIM or MCQ ? or Time factor ?

@tm535 Did you finish the exam and What areas do you think you did bad on?

    Hi All,

I did finish the exam with 10 minutes to spare. I feel everything Becker told me to focus on was not accurate. The wording of the multiple choice questions from Becker compared to the real exam was so different. The sims were hard. I feel Becker drowns you with lectures and questions that just don't prepare you for the real thing. I went to the live lectures and did the online lectures.

A quick question before I go and fight with the beast (FAR) today:
IFRS states inventory is the smallest NRV or cost. GAAP is NRV or replacement cost again the smallest. Is this right?? I studied wit Her Roger and he hasn't change anything on this area.
    Thanks!!

@HottyToddy you capitalize legal costs, but expense other costs such as consulting & finder’s fees

@popitsa , there are some change in this area as far as GAP is concerned.
    IFRS :Cost or NRV
US GAP : Cost or NRV in most cases.
US GAP : in case of LIFO and Retail old GAP still valid. Cost or Market value whichever is lower.
Ceiling ,Floor and Replacement ( middle one ) .
Remember LIFO is not valid in IFRS hence GAP Inventory is more aligned with IFRS now ( except with retail )

@WannaFree not sure exactly what you are looking for in a post about the exam without disclosing information. The AICPA takes this very serious. Honestly thought my test aligned with CPA Exam Blueprints, it was spread out over a majority of the sections. I had 5 DRS SIMS and the 2 SIMS that were not DRS were the hardest (also the shortest though). In my opinion, there is nothing you can do to prepare for SIMS. It comes down to luck of the draw.

@Cruzer , I am definitely not interested in disclosure violation and neither want you to violate. What I am interested to know how people with Becker's review or Ninja are doing in exam ? How they are managing the time etc e.g 5 DRS you mentioned that's too steep.
Someone else also mentioned 5 DRS. So how you did in MCQ and overall ? Some people got 2 DRS. Pure Dice game.

How long do you guys make your sessions in Ninja? I can't get over a 70% but I only do 20 question sessions, that's probably why.

Edit: I've basically been getting nothing but 70s and 75s the past few days lol, with a few crappy sessions here and there smh

@@WannaFree Most definitely just rolling the dice and hoping for that lucky number. I thought I did well overall. I studied with NINJA MCQ and also reviewed Becker flashcards on the daily to drive home areas I was struggling in. I thought NINJA MCQ was tougher than actual. I felt more confident on SIMS then I did MCQ. I was able to manage my SIMS fairly well and finished the exam with about 10 mins to spare. Having experience in real life helps for the new exam I have to say. One who is coming right out of school might struggle somewhat with reviewing multiple documents/memos/emails and applying. Praying for that 75 in August and to be done with exams for good.
