Absolutely..that why it is important to read the instructions on the sim. So many people just jumped into the sims without reading the instructions and they ended up not realizing it until they finished the exam and ended up losing a lot of easy free points.

So sim says leave it blank, then leave it blank. If it says enter the zeros, then enter zeros.

Gleim sims are 100% spot on in terms of presentation of the real deal. When they claim their sims are realistic, they weren't joking.

As govt seems to be a consensus key point on the FAR exam- what are your thoughts on the reconciliation portion of the govt wide F/S? I feel like I'm going to spend a ton of time mastering what is only 14 questions in the Becker materiel (F10-M6). Do you think this would be a good use of my time with only 2.5 weeks remaining?

Definitely expect JEs for govt/nfp sims….couldnt hurt to learn the big boy financial stmt tho…havent come across a practice sim on it yet

For the record, the worst FAR sim i have ever come across was a bank recon drs back in Aug! Couldnt balance it to save my life!

About a week and a half left…worth doing mostly mcq and ONLY doing a couple of sims or 50/50 mcq/sims?

Been studying for a two months and I finished the Wiley material this past thursday, been doing MCQs since then.
Been averaging 55%, and to be honest I've only been getting the super easy ones correct.

I am taking FAR on May 31st and I feel like I have 0% chance to pass.
I don't understand how people pass this exam, it is so much material.
I've only taken AUD before and I scored a 97 while working full time with only 3 weeks of studying.
I figured a 75 on FAR should be easy with ample studying time, boy was I wrong.

What do you do if you are 16 days from your test, still have 3 chapters to get through, trend 50% on MCQs and feel like giving up.

Side note – BEC expires in June.

Other than “keep pushing you are almost there tiger!” And “I don't know you but I believe in you!” Anyone got any suggestions?

^^^Make it your goal to make it through those chapters by Wednesday/Thursday, then go crazy in review mode

Lol 3 chapters in 3 days? Do you work? I work 8 -630 and study from 630-1030. Not a chance in hell I could get through 3 chapters in a week let alone 3 days!

^^^Yeah I work 8:30 – 5:00, but my job is slow, so I get a lot of studying done. You doing Becker? I'm guessing that their chapters are probably triple the size of Gleim chapters???

Jokes aside, you may want to skip the lectures and just read the annotated book and work through the MCQs. Assuming you're using Becker, the last three chapters will be NFP and government which is important. If you skip the lectures, and do one pass through the MCQs, you can get through the 3 chapters by Wednesday like Mytalo recommended and then just review like crazy.

Chapters 4, 5, 6 for Becker is what I haven't gotten through. Long story, but I piece mealed. I actually feel okay about govt and NFP. I legitimately know NOTHING about financial instruments, equity method, bonds, capital leases, derivatives/hedges. When I say nothing I honestly mean that if you said “tell me 1 thing about a derivative and I'll give you 1million dollars” I'd say “uhhh it's an investment…?”

^^^I seen a few of the Becker lectures on youtube were long AF. Have you tried cutting the lectures/text and going straight to the questions? The first few sessions may be frustrating, but things will click as the questions repeat.
