@Spartans92 well think about how you only have one left! You can do this! Just one more and you are done. For me that would be enough motivation. And i personally think gym is a great idea so you should stick with it, should give you more energy 🙂 . Maybe take once a week off (i took last night off to have 3 drinks)

I just started FAR 2 weeks ago, F1 is looooooong and it drains you. I was on the same boat as you few years back when i sat for FAR the first time. I couldnt finish studying left the last 3 chapters out LOL, couldnt do it with the crazy hours all year round. Moved to a better place with a December cycle only so i think with 4 hours everyday and weekend to make up should be able to finish all material this time around 🙂

You can do this! One more and you are done

Just scheduled my exam. May 30th is the day of reckoning. Gives me 10 solid weeks of re-studying, and 6 weeks of post tax season days of hammering the material

@alexisle88 – Remember, we all signed non-disclosure agreements at the exam, so we have to be very vague about test questions. That said – Not only is cash basis-to accrual basis fair game, you have to know it (backwards) for statements of cash flows, so I recommend you consider that one of your “difficult topics” and really work hard on it.

All – I took FAR 3/9. I took a couple days off to re-introduce myself to my life, but I'm going to work a couple of sims every day and hang out in here at least until scores come out to prevent forgetting material. REALLY hoping I made it, but HEDGING for success!!! (I hate hedging problems)

Just came across a question that it's conflicting (to me) F1 – M6 Becker question 00219:

Under US GAAP, is the cumulative effect of an inventory pricing change on prior years earnings reported on the financial statements from LIFO to Weighted Avg. and from weighted average to LIFO. Answer is Yes- No

I understand that to LIFO is impractical so we treat it prospectively and is an exception to the general rule. I also thought an exception was change in depreciation method since it is a change in principle but and a change in estimate which are handled as changes in est/prospectively. Then why do we report from LIFO to weighted avg? Am i missing something in this question?

never mind… wow i am tired. That was silly. Its INVENTORY not depreciation….

It looks like I'll be joining all of you amazing people in studying for FAR. I hope to test near Memorial Day.

Did I forget to say, I'm scared of this monster?! It's been a while since I was in school. Hopefully, Roger and I can work together for the pass.

I'm tired of operating in fear and mediocrity. It's time to try. It's time to do. It's time to go.

Count me in for this group. This will be my first CPA exam, so I have one important question

How am I supposed to study for this exam when the book is thicker than my Xbox 360?!

what would be the best way to approach SIMs? After each chapter or in the end during review?

@Spartans92 and @Iceman6, I feel you guys. This tax season is crazier with the new LLC deadline. What course materials are you using? I think SIMs are going to be killers. Good luck all.

WOO HOO @Spartan! How did I miss your AUD score???? CONGRATS man! that's awesome! Woke up having FAR nightmares- will probably start doing some SIMs this week to stay on top of the game and keep it fresh. Clearly I'm not stressed or anything- ha!

and they ask me why I drink...

FAR- 61-next time I'll ask for lube instead of a calculator
REG-75- Never been so happy to see such a low grade
    BEC- 8/11
    AUD- 9/2

So far, I've completed FAR 1 in Roger (just started studying on Sunday morning). His prep calendar states to complete the TBS' and the accompanying MCQs. However, since my exam is not until May, I'm wondering if it is even worth it to do that so early. Of course, I've completed the few questions from the end of every lesson, but I'm curious to know how I'll keep the info fresh if I do the questions right now. What do you all think?

I'm tired of operating in fear and mediocrity. It's time to try. It's time to do. It's time to go.

@eltoro Im using NINJA Book, Notes and MCQ. Its helped me pass the other 3 so its been good to me. Im just going to put in twice as many hours as i did the first go around to tackle this beast. Tax season will hinder that, just means less sleep for me

    @Accountingbeans
I'm planning on doing that. It's my last exam so I'm gna take it slow and make sure I pass in one try than take it quick and wait for my score.
