@cpatroll77 it is a horrible feeling… I was so annoyed with myself. I dedicated 3.5 months of studying after work from 5pm till 10pm and all weekends. Now I have BEC in July and then plan to hit the books again studying for FAR so I can take it 4th QTR (don't think sitting 3rd QTR will be possible). I am so glad I am not the only one to do this – I had a lot of doubt after my test in my ability to actually take a test – I was just thinking to myself…who does that…how did that happen!? so THANK YOU for that boost, honestly makes me feel more normal and have less doubt in myself. 😀

Took my exam today and Whheeww! Hardest test imaginable to man! So my second testlet wasn't that much harder than my first but definitely more difficult. I agree with @beantown23 to “spend [your] last few days reviewing other things.”

Just because you didn't get a super hard second testlet doesn't mean you failed. At least that's what I hope lol. I mean let's be real here. If in your second testlet you received questions that took longer than 20 minutes each to finish, there's no possible way to finish the exam in time (20min x 33?'s = 726 min = 12+ hours). So even these 1/2 page questions beantown speaks of couldn't be much more difficult than an easy second testlet. The first testlet is still not easy by any means.

I managed my time well and started my SIMS with exactly 2.5 hours remaining.

I got 3 DRS's like @mtaylo24. 2 came in the first testlet. I took the 15 minute break and the last one was at the end.

I typed more stuff but the post didn't go through. Like 1 SIM forced you to learn a particular industry's accounting then prepare JE's and calculate balances.

Let me know if you have any questions.

@aatoural (and anyone else testing today)– GOOOD LUCK TODAY!!! You got this thing!

@mtaylo- I'm actually betting that you passed this thing- your experience sounds way too similar to mine last time. You just never know with these things but I don't think it went as badly as you think it did. Hope you enjoyed a beer or 10 last night.

and they ask me why I drink...

FAR- 61-next time I'll ask for lube instead of a calculator
REG-75- Never been so happy to see such a low grade
    BEC- 8/11
    AUD- 9/2

Yesterday I was really scared after MTaylo's experience as he was well prepared. So many thoughts came to my mind ,best was when I can wait till 18th August ,23rd September is not that far.If I waited for 1.5 years ,extra 1.5 months is not a big deal.LOL
I am just thinking how to read emails. LOL .Silver lining , there won't be a surprise factor.
After reading all posts my strategy is in place. Will see if that works.
if stuck skip testlet 3 and I will go till last testlet and.Anyway I don't need 96 I just need 76.
    Ready to roll at 12.30.

Lol thanks @wannafree I just want a 75. I'm in America. I went into my last SIM testlet with an hour and 15 minutes left so I divided that time by 3 and gave myself 25 min each. I finished the first SIM in 25 min. As soon as I looked at the next one, I realized it might take the longest or at least it seemed that way so I mulled over the directions and stuff then jumped to the last SIM. I thought this DRS wouldn't take too long and I felt I had a better chance at it so I finished it with 15 minutes left. It took longer than the other 2 DRS's I had in the first testlet. I went back to the second SIM and got to work. It turned out it didn't take that long to find out what I needed but I still wish I had a little more time. I feel the whole test should be a five hour test.

Goodluck today @wannafree and to anyone else taking FAR today

@Wannafree @cpain2k17 @aatoural and anyone else, I wish you all the best of luck. Don't worry about anyone else experience, just do your best!

    @mckan514w
, I definitely needed a few beers last night for sure! I think missing the research question and feeling rushed is what really got me worked up yesterday. I did some reflecting, I flagged probably 2 in testlet one and 4 in testlet 2. I feel that I got no less than a 50 on the 7 other sims and at least a 75 on 6 of them. We will see.

    AUD - 1st - 60 (12/12), 61 (2/13), 61 (8/13), 78! (11/15)
    REG - 55 (2/16) 69 (5/16) Retake(8/16)
    BEC - 71(5/16) Retake (9/16)
    FAR - (8/16)

BobyCapsCPA, first thing in morning I saw your post “took test today” and I thought it may be somewhere in the world.
The reason I wish 76 because I have seen people miss by 1 and that's terrible. LOL
The way you took the exam that gave me hope otherwise yesterday was my low point as didn't know how to read 5 pages of emails ,no special skills to read English faster than Americans.
What surprised me in all posts though that it seems MCQ was bonus points ,its you who brought the difficulties of MCQ.
In freecpa mock test got 82 so giving me good feelings today.

Thank you @mtaylo! Just got done. I actually feel pretty good about my test. MCQ wasn't bad,I was a little iffy on a few of the sims and I see what y'all were saying about all the documents but I think I did pretty well on them overall. Thankfully I didn't run into a time issue.

@CPAin2K17 Good stuff! Time management is crucial and it looks like you won that battle! How much time did you have left whenever you hit submit? Did you find the research lol?

Good luck to everyone taking the exam today!

Definitely one of the hardest exams I've ever taken. There is simply no way of preparing for the SIMs….felt like I was guessing on most of them.

I had like an hour left. I got through MCQ (both testlets) in an hour. Got through the first sim testlet in probably 30 min. One of these was DRS and didn't take too long. Research was in my second sim testlet and I was able to find it pretty quick thankfully.finsihed the 3rd sim testlet with about an hour left, was confident with my answers so I submitted and peaced out of there. My strategy was to write down all info onto my scratch board thing then go fill in all the blanks on the sims. Then I'd double check and make sure I didn't miss anything or mess any numbers up. I wasn lucky to get a sim on something I do at my job haha.
