Any general advice on approaching FAR? Was planning on taking BEC at the end of May but decided to tackle FAR. Using Becker + WileyTestBank. I’ve seen some posts that FAR is one of Becker’s stronger parts and not planning on investing in other materials for the time being. I’ve got until May 31.

Honestly, I would get FAR over with as soon as you can. If you think you have enough time to study for it by May 31 then by all means go ahead and do it. I will have studied for 6 weeks for this exam once I take it next Thursday and I feel that it was enough time for me, but studying is my full-time job at the moment. As far as supplementing Becker with other study material, although I haven't taken the exam yet, I feel that Becker has provided me with more than enough to work on in such a short amount of time. The only thing I would like to practice more would be simulations but I don't really think it will make a difference because they won't be anything like the real exam sims anyways.

My advice to you would be to keep up with the material you have already covered. Starting about halfway through my studying I did a progress test everyday to keep it fresh on my mind. This is by far the worst section I have studied for at this point. It isn't that the material is difficult, it is just the sheer amount of material that gets to you.

    BEC - Feb 2012: 80
    AUD - Feb 2012: 84
    FAR - Apr 2012: 78
    REG - May 2012: 90

    Thanks Becker!

My advise is to study each section/chaper as it is taught. Don't speed through the material without fully understanding it. On a weekly basis, I would review the old material. At the very least, redo one good/challenging question from each chapter so your brain is someone still fresh with the old material. I didn't do this so when I went back to review, I didn't remember anything. Luckily it came back to me pretty quickly because I spent time studying the material before I moved on.

Thanks guys. I don't know if it's enough time but I like to set exam date and just get it done. I will probably just stick with Becker. I have wileytestbank but I will use it only if I have enough time.

Anyone else think becker is sufficient for far?

Don't neglect the NINJA's! I don't know if Jeff has the audio ready for FAR but the one for REG really saved my behind on exam day!

I have ninja notes for FAR so will use them for sure (I use these for review only). More concerned with the main study materials. After reading many posts about the various review material it's a bit difficult not to doubt whether what I'm using is sufficient. I have the testbank, the only thing is I don't know if I have the time to do ALL the questions in both becker and wiley so trying to come up with a reasonable strategy for the upcoming weeks.

Becker is sufficient for FAR. I squeezed by with a 77 but it still got the job done. If you have the Wiley TestBank, that's great. Some people get in the routine of memorizing the MCQs when doing Becker so it's good to have a different set of questions to practice with.

I also dedicated a window for FAR, and honestly, two months is a bit long (not that it's bad), but by mid-May you'll start forgetting some of the stuff you studied early April, so take cpham's advice and on a weekly basis, do a quick review of the previous sections to keep it fresh.

    Good luck!

    BEC - 67, 79 - (expires 5/24)
    REG - 74, 72, 77 - Key to Passing: RTFQ
FAR - 77 - Chance favors the prepared mind.
    AUD - 64, (5/14) - FREEDOM!! (i hope)

Thanks Hut-Hut. Close to two months but with full-time work so not sure if it's enough time, but gonna go for it and see. Watching videos is probably the worst part.
