I am struggling to get in a groove studying FAR. I just finished the AUD exam and I just redid the homework for F1 today and I got lower score than the first time around. I even studied some of the notes and the text (Becker). I am discouraged and seriously thinking about moving my FAR test date (7/30).

What do you guys think? I was encouraged by my professors that I could take all four sections in 2 months of the summer. That’s what they said the FastPass was designed to do. Now I am seriously thinking about just taking Reg in October. Any of you guys had similar experience?

I haven't taken any of the exams yet, but I am currently studying for FAR and am in the middle of F8. I started studying on June 10th, and was planning on taking FAR July 10th, giving myself about a month to study. I'm not working right now, but am taking two classes on top of the CPA exam, so I thought that would be plenty of time. All I can tell you is I got to about F3 and was freaking out, and for me I knew there was no way I would be able to do this in a month! People have done it, and I am sure it can be done, but it seems it just a matter of how much time you can put in and retain the information.

My thought process was this: I can try and crank through as much as possible in little time and hope to pass, or I can give myself an extra month and be thorough and absorb as much material as I can giving the extra time. I thought, well do I want to have to retake FAR? ABSOLUTELY NOT haha. So I pushed my test date back a month to give myself some extra time in the hopes I will pass the first time around and not have to look at FAR again!

I am sure you can do it, it just may be very, very difficult given that you are only beginning and are planning on taking it at the end of the month. FAR is a ton of information to process!

Hope that helps some, and good luck!

    FAR - 8/14/12
    REG - TBD
    BEC - TBD
    AUD - TBD

My professors also told me I could pass this exam in two months… I am waitressing 6 nights a week until Oct when I start working at a firm, and I study about 15 hours a week.. I started studying for FAR in June and my test was scheduled for July 12… I had a panic attack and moved it back to July 24. I still dont feel even remotely well enough prepared for the exam but reading this forum (other threads) and stuff has made me realize that I probably am more prepared then I realize and I'm still going to take in on Tuesday. If I fail it (this is my first ever time taking one of the exams) then I'll know what to expect and I just need to realize that its okay not to be perfect (I struggle with the concept of working hard and still failing). Good luck to you and keep your head up!

    FAR - 66, 71, 76!
    AUD - 75
    REG - 82
    BEC - 83

    DONE.
