FAR simulations JE question

I’m using Becker as my study material and I am confused about a simple issue. When filling out JEs in simulations, do I need to leave a CR or DR cell blank or do I put “0” if it doesn’t apply. Becker simulations are self graded and it doesn’t specify but I recall someone saying that if you leave it blank it is incorrect so you have to put “0.” I’m taking my FAR exam tomorrow and I don’t want to worry about this issue during the exam (not sure if it will tell me to leave it blank or what).

    Thanks!

I have done a couple of sims today and I was thinking the same thing.

Also, I know it shouldn't be that way, but just in case….. do the JE lines have to be in a specified order (like debit first and then credit)? Or, like in reality, any order is good as long as accounts and amounts (and DR and CR signs) are correct?

    FAR - 7/26/10 - 95
    AUD - 8/10/10 - 88
    BEC - 8/31/10 - 88
    REG - 10/15/10 - 95

Just read the directions carefully when you take the test. If it says fill in every cell then you should put 0 if there is a 0 balance. If not, don't worry about leaving it blank.

    FAR 92 - AUD 91 - REG 94 - BEC 86

thanks but i can't help it but worry cuz becker is absolutely silent about it and none of the aicpa released simulations say anything either….

big shot cpa – I would probably just put the 0 in there if that applies to the journal entry…better to be safe than sorry!

    AUD - 84; REG - 90; BEC - 79; FAR - 75; ALL DONE!!

thanks MPoni, I will do that. DOn't want to lose 50% of points just because I leave it blank…

    Now back to Treasury stock…
