Hey guys! With regards to journal entries for FAR simulations, must the JE’s be in some specific order?

I currently had a question in my review material than mandated that I group the entries in descending order, alphabetize and it graded me wrong for not putting a zero in a credit entry cell that had a correct debit entry. In essence any cell not used should have a zero in it Is. this type of grading consistent with the actual CPA exam?

Directions will be given to you on the exam on whether to put zeroes or not, and they don't need to be in order.

    FAR - 71, 68, 74, (8/31/14) 78 ✔
    REG - 67, 71, 71, (10/18/14) 78 ✔
    BEC - (11/29/14) 86 ✔
    AUD - 73, (4/4/15) 86 ✔

I can't believe this is over! 2 years and 3 months..

I don't believe they have to be in a specific order in the actual exam…it may just be a limitation of your review course. NEVER leave a box blank! Fill those in with zero's! If it is supposed to be zero because it is not used and you do not put a zero in, it's wrong! I found out the hard way on my first exam.

I didn't have directions either way on my test…better to be safe.
