For audit saw posts that it’s not worth it, so didn’t; not for REG either. Any opinions on whether it’s worth to spend a lot of time on practicing the sims? Or if you know the material, you should be able to at least give the sims a good shot. Thanks

Yes, definitely practice some SIMS. That may have been the difference between your 74 and a 75 on REG.

Practice some journal entry sims. Pensions, consolidations, like-kind exchanges, etc. It's all good stuff.

Yes, possibly, although the first time I took REG the sims were very manageable even without practicing. It was my first exam and I completely blew it – thought there were more testlets so finished super early by accident and didn't use the research tab to review answers. Not saying that it would be a glowing score, but I think there was a reasonable chance of passing – obviously too late now but I learned my lesson. Second round not so much; defnitely more difficult and the sims were the kind I could have used some practice for.

If you have time YES do study sims. But for me, I felt like knowing the material really well would have helped me more on sims. Make sure you understand the material and not just doing sms for the sake of doing sims.

I agree. Even if you do not get tested on the topics of the practice sims, the practice sims will familiarize you with the functionality of the sims. I think this is especially helpful for the research question. When I took my exams, having some level of knowledge about what the SIMs would/could look like gave me some comfort and confidence.
