FAR SIMS – one pretest most likely?

I have read that the FAR SIMS usually contain one pretest question (which sometimes a person can tell is a pretest but sometimes not). Does anyone know if the AICPA has actually said that there is usually one pretest on the SIMS?

There is always a pre-test question. No, you cannot figure out which one it is.

Yes, this has been confirmed by the AICPA. All sections of the CPA exam contain 12 pretest MC questions, and 1 pretest sim. BEC also has one WC that is pretest. As Tim said, there is no way to tell which is which.

Thanks that is helpful information, I have read that at times a person got a SIM that was not mentioned in review materials but also that a person cannot tell. I am thinking the pretest SIM would be in the first or second SIM testlet so as to not give additional points if a person did not spend time on the last set.

If you take sample AICPA test, and one of the SIMS on those samples is usually the one where you are given a document and you have to correct the statement by clicking on the drop down menu, and one of the options is to keep the statement same as is, I hate those ones. I always hope they are a pre-test but who knowssss

@Youcandoit, I always despised the letter review on all of the exams lol. I feel like they are supposed to be the easier SIMs, but they always managed to turn into pests for me.
