I took FAR Round 2 on October 20th and while I’m praying for a pass every moment the score release pops into my head, I am doing a little precautionary research/polling in case I have to do this again…
For those of you that have had to take FAR a 3rd time and passed on the 3rd try, what was your strategy? Some details on my previous strategies are below:
Round 1: I used CPA excel but only read the text(no videos). Did all the MCQs and SIMs as I went along. My “review” started about 3 weeks before the exam and consisted of doing the progress tests until I got 80 or above on a particular section and then once I did that I did nothing but random 30 question sets. This approach had gotten me my other 3 passes on the first attempt but clearly it was not enough for FAR 🙁
Round 2: I used CPA excel to go through all the videos and took intense notes, focused on Govt and NFP (which killed me in Round 1), read Ninja notes a few times, and then switched to NINJA MCQ 100% with about a month to go. Got to the review phase with about 9 days left and did 30 question sets until exam day and also did all of the NINJA SIMs.
I just don’t know how I’d approach this if I had to do it again…
