Has anyone of you struggled during your review phase? I mean I got through 700 pages of information/lecture, attempted about 3000 mcq (including the ones I did again after getting them wrong once) and here I am re-doing all of them again and still scoring 60s. I’m having a really hard time retaining concepts even after understanding them once. I’m scheduled to take the exam May 15th, but really considering rescheduling it to a later date.

It sounds like you did more than enough mcq but make sure you complete extensive sims. I personally sat and passed the the FAR exam in March. My approach was to hit the major areas 4-5 days prior to the exam, particularly completing an extensive simulation for each. Each days consisting of atleast 10 hours of study time but make sure to take 20-30 minute breaks every 2-3 hours. Those areas are: NFP, Governmental, Cashflows, Bonds, Leases, Pensions, Consolidation, Construction contracts. I also had a large problem on Contingencies/Provisions (when to disclose and/or accrue). Keep at it and you will pass.

Yes, FAR is terrible. I would definitely look at the SIMS, and the blueprints-anything analysis level or application level is a fair game for a SIM, so make sure you know those areas. I found that the best thing to pull everything together was to ad lib my own notes, kind of like explaining it to someone else, with journal entries for every single topic and it really helped to internalize the material for me. Don't reschedule. Just take it again even though you might not be as prepared as you'd like to be. Maybe push it out a week or two but no more. In the meantime i'd hammer the difficult stuff again. I postponed my FAR exam by 30 days TWICE. I lived to regret it. If I'd taken it earlier, I might've passed. Trending scores are almost meaningless. There was a post on here from a guy not long ago who said “I never scored over 50% on a practice exam, I was never confident in my abilities, etc etc” but, he got through all four exams. It's a roll of the dice.
You could easily go in there and get an easy set of questions. Lesson to be learned – never underestimate how prepared you are, or how easy/hard the real exam will be.
