I am 16 days out from my FAR test and I have never felt this unsure…I feel like my brain is mush, my average in Ninja is 69, and I can’t remember crap. I gave chapters 1-4 in Becker a thorough review. hoping to get through review of 6-10 this week (I feel like I know gov’t accounting better since it was what I studied most recently). Overall, I am overwhelmed by the amount of stuff I still have to do… Ugh…Just keep on going I guess. This is potentially my last one-I don’t want to do this again!

    Keep on trucking!!
I'm in the same boat. Sitting for FAR, 1st part on the 9th.
Overwhelmed by the amount of material, but at the end of the day it is what it is.
I am fortunate that I am taking FAR first, so the clock has not started and I have zero risk of losing anything except time and money.
Some quizzes I do poorly on, some I do well on. Take the time to learn from the mistakes, and just do your best.
You just need to be better prepared than 60% of the people, not 100%.

Thanks ReckedRacing! My first exam (BEC) doesn't expire until July 2018, so I am telling myself that worst case scenario I will retake FAR. But I am doing everything I can not to! Good luck in your studies!

I am in the exact same boat with FAR, my first section, Dec 1st. It's so incredibly daunting. I have the big picture of most topics but just can't make the details stick. I'm going to go through my notes thoroughly and re-write them until I understand and memorize what I need. Also just got a flashcard app that looks promising…

I only reviewed 11 days for FAR and I was feeling completely unprepared for the first week of that. I felt pretty confident going into the exam, though. Just keep narrowing down your problem areas and correcting them. It will come together.

I followed my Wiley Course, which was set for 3 -4 hours per day every day for 3 months, and the course's last section of learning (Government) was one week before the test. At times I stayed ahead of the schedule to the best of my ability because everyone here says 3 weeks or more to review. However, once I hit NFP/Government, hit a wall for a few days, and probably had 4 days to actually review all of FAR (took 2 days off work and had the weekend), which consisted of doing all of relevant Gleim's SIMs (at the time as far as I was concerned i.e. skipped derivatives), and the day before blasted through MCQs. Walked out on exam day guaranteed that I failed, got an 81.

That being said, 16 days sounds solid, and may be not the best advice, but a day off might help. I only say that because I'm studying for Audit now, and some days I'm jamming in lessons and doing progress tests continuously, and doing terrible on them. I had a day when life came up so I had to forcibly take it off other than reading a few notes, but when I got back into it I was refreshed and doing much better.

Either way, just keep plugging at it, don't let the progress scores put you down, you know the stuff, just take a breather and hammer out your weakest areas.

    @oliviarthgb
, just a suggestion, I felt I wasted too much time in my precious few review days trying to tackle details as from my exam experience, understanding the bigger picture was more important.

Thanks guys! SBNY2K17-I agree that too much studying sometimes feels counterproductive. When I listen to Ninja audio, I know all of it, then I get to MCQ, get into the weeds and it's overwhelming. When I do progress tests of 30 random questions I do much better… Just going to keep going at it…..

I'm in the same boat as you @anyatver. Like everyone else said, much of the work has already been done. The first pass through the concepts is always the hardest. I am 3 days out and am really hoping all the review I am doing sticks. My plan is to keep reviewing the concepts, esp my weaker areas, and then take a practice exam to expose myself to SIMs and time management. This exam is unlike all others. Also my **hopefully** last part and I really do not want to study after this. Let's hope we're able to make through this beast!

@ShruteBeet-you are so close to taking this thing! Good luck in your final days-it's petrifying and exciting all at the same time (too much excitement for me:) LOL). Please report back of your experience!

Studying for FAR and I feel it is the worst exam! I am questioning everything I did for all the other exams because I still do not have the comfort level that it is enough to pass this beast.

Is there anyone else who has re-written the Ninja notes? I have finished all the lectures (Roger), still not 100% sure how comfy I feel with the material. I did the re-write strategy with REG only and couldn't say whether it worked or not. I was wondering if there was anyone else out there who has done this.

    Thanks

Agreed, I'm retaking FAR test on Saturday. Review is so tough because there is so much stuff. Just have to keep trucking along and hopefully it works out.

I am 30 days out and just started reviewing starting from F1, but it seems like I have forgotten a lot of the materials. I don't even want to start any Ninja MCQs until I review the materials because I have forgotten so much. I don't want to review the whole textbook again even if it was quickly going through all of it because it's so much materials. Would you guys recommend I purchase the Becker Final Review??? Complete Final Review in 2 weeks and Ninja MCQs in 2 weeks? Or maybe work those two together?

Take it one day and fail, take it the next day and pass. If you're lucky, the gods will be smiling on you the day you take it.

That needs to be my new signature line.
