FAR Retake- Should I postpone?

Took FAR back in October after studying for three months and got a 71. By the time scores were released I had taken AUD already and got a 70. Decided to take AUD again first on 1/26 since I had just taken it on 12/6 and hadn’t stopped studying for very long.

I scheduled my FAR retake for 3/10 at the end of the window and jumped right into studying after my AUD retake. I work at a CPA firm and as you know it’s busy season. This leaves me with around 5 weeks until my retake. My plan was to watch all of the Becker lectures, re-write the Ninja notes, then hammer out ninja MCQs and sims until exam day.

With my BEC test expiring on May 3rd, should I postpone FAR until late April for one big push or take it in March and hope for the best with one more shot after that?

    Take it in March.
After Q1 2018 the scores will be on a 3 month hold again, so better to try and fail, and know you failed immediately, than to wait until June 2018 for score release to find out you need to take both FAR and BEC again.

Good point and thanks for the quick feedback ^^^

Might try and cut out the lectures and go straight to notes and MCQ then.

I concur with ReckedRacing-skip the lectures all together, do the notes, book and MCQ. I jumped into Ninja MCQ for my re-take, and re-wrote my own notes plus added from Becker book as I did those. There will be things you know, things you forgot and things that you only thought you knew 🙂 LOL! Good luck!

With your BEC expiring in May, I think you should definitely take FAR again this quarter. I wouldn't watch all the lectures again. If you didn't do the Skills Exercises before I would consider doing those. On the Becker website you can look up which modules had changes since Q4, because you'll probably want to reread those sections in the online book and watch those new lectures (revenue recognition changed, for example). If you focus on the things that have changed on the FAR exam since last quarter, and the topics that you think you were weakest on before, that may be all you have time for during busy season. Good luck 🙂

I agree the Skills Practice is valuable-I have been doing them for the topics which are marked “analysis” in the blueprint, which indicates a possible SIM. Just a quick way to review JE, etc. Very good. Their SKills practice for F1 M3 and 4 (revenue recognition) is also very good for the new standards.

    30 days x 100 MCQs per day.
50 before work and 50 after work. You should be able to knock out 5 sets of 10 with reading the correct answers in about 15-20 minutes each. Hour and a half before work and an hour and a half after work.
3000 MCQs should get you over 75.
