FAR retake or go with AUD as planned?

Yesterday’s score release in CA was painful in many ways including my FAR failing score of 57. I am embarrassed but decided to share my score and get some advise from you guys.

Studied with WileyCPA and passed BEC in March. Started studying FAR in April but was lagging forever – work, family, and such a detailed study material in WileyCPA – and ended up only studying 3 weeks before the exam. Took FAR on 9/7 and I knew I didn’t pass when I walked out of the testing room. But oh boy, 57… that hurts! Only part I did well was Gov& NFP which I studied for 2 days.

Switched to Roger (wasn’t thrilled about spending more money on study material but I really couldn’t stand another boring lecture from Wiley. I will use their test bank though) for my next scheduled AUD exam 11/9. So far, I like it.

    Question-
    1. My plan was to go with AUD study and take the exam on 11/9 (last day before my NTS expires) as planned and retake FAR later. Should I stick with my plan or get back to FAR study and retake that before I continue with AUD?

    2. I am planning to purchase other study material for FAR exam and am debating between Roger and Ninja. Any suggestions?

Thank you in advance for your input. 57 is stuck in my head… I need to shake it off and start fresh!

Hi @cando – I feel for you. I just found out I failed FAR. 10 points shy of the mark, and I had foolishly thought I may have even passed. Throw in a near miss by 1 point on AUD and I'm in your boat. (BEC I passed as you did). Try not to get hung up on the number. Easier said than done of course.

In your case, since your NTS is expiring and you are already invested in AUD and liking your study program for it, I'd stick with that and go for FAR after. I'd be doing the same thing I'm telling you, except I never picked back up AUD after that long release so I am just going right back after FAR and will tackle AUD after that.

Thank you @Kimberly and sorry to hear about your FAR score. It's a tough journey – I feel isolated and discouraged so many times – and it's nice to know there are people out there going through this challenging journey and encouraging each other. Good luck with your FAR retake. Sounds like you are ready to beat this monster and I cheer for you.
P.S : I think Wiley Test bank is good. I probably did only 30% ? of them in my FAR due to my own lagging and pushing it off to the next day, etc. but it's definitely a good source to practice MCQs and SIMs.
