    Hey everyone,

    I’ve been preparing to take on this “beast” for the past 4 weeks, and my studying has been like a roller coaster. Some things I understand and move on, some things I spend 3+ days on (I’m talking to YOU Governmental, bonds, and pensions!). I’ve been using Becker (lectures, software, and flashcards) and I spend nearly 6-7 hours a day studying. So far I just finished F8, and I think there’s smoke coming out of my ears. I’ve been taking the progress tests recently, and I’ve been scoring in the low-60’s.

    I was wondering if anyone has had a similar experience to what I’m going through right now, especially with the low test scores. I take the exam on the 13th, and other than forcing myself deeper into the text I don’t know what else to do. If anyone that passed FAR would like to offer their 2 cents I’d really appreciate it.

    BEC -> 75

    I have passed everything last year and I am a FL CPA. I am going to try to highlight a few things that may help you prepare for FAR. First thing, when you go over practice exams in Becker, see which area you are the weakest, and try doing them over and over. That way you can improve in those sections. Don't go too crazy with governement. You need to know the basics and not too deep on that. Slow down a little towards the end and maybe just refresh yourself on reviewing the material by reading instead of doing questions. You don't want to be too burnt out by the exam time. Make sure you cover even the sections that Becker points out as additional (optional) reading. Trust me – there is nothing optional in that book. At least read them once-twice so you are familiar with them. Don't forget to cover the IFRS. I think that's it. Good luck to you!

    Thanks everyone for the advice! I started to get burnt out from all of this studying about a week ago, and I'm finding it hard to focus on the materials. I'm finishing up the F9 lecture and multiple choice today along with starting F10 tomorrow. Does everyone think that leaving 6 days or so for final review is enough?

    @ zcyankeefan: 6 days maybe pushing it, but if your reviewing as you go, you should be ok. I generally leave about 1.5 weeks or 2 weeks at most to review. I gave myself 1.5 weeks for FAR because I wasn't reviewing (progress testing, looking over notes/FC) as I gone through the material. Good luck to ya!
