For those of you who passed FAR and work full-time how long did you study for? I am trying to be realistic as I failed FAR before and need to pass this time! Any advice is appreciated!

It also depends on your background as well. Some people might take 1 month, some less, it took me 6 weeks, i had cpareviewforfree and yaeger. I was feeling ok about it when getting into the exam, but common sense and Journal entires and T accounts saved me with a 76 the very first time.

I have Yaeger's Home Study and I feel like I have a solid background. I have been an auditor for six years so a lot of it I see on a daily basis. I am mapping out my study plan now based on Yaeger's review and I am thinking Mid-August might be best. O the joys of the CPA exam 🙂

I studied for 8 weeks solid and averaged about 20-25 hours per week. I took two days at the end to go over all the MCQ's and SIMS again in the Becker Self Study and Becker Final Review.

I started studying on 4/11/11, and I started a full time position a week later. I took FAR on 5/24/11. I was home from work by 6, gave myself an hour to eat and chill, then studied from 7pm – 1 am. On Friday nights I played softball and didn't really study. On weekends I was studying by 11 am, usually earlier, continuing to 2 am with an hour break for dinner.

I took a prep course which was a 12 week semester and included a Power Point presentation as well as an essay to get credit for the class. It also included the Final Review software (mandatory) and an 8 hour in-class review (all Becker). I spent an additional 2 weeks reviewing after the class was over because I wanted some time to review my way and with a little more freedom to do what I felt I needed. There are 10 chapters, and I don't think I would have been able to do it in less than 12 weeks because it was all I could do to get through 1 chapter a week and feel even a little comfortable with the material (although it didn't help that I had those other projects to do also). Those final review weeks are what really pulls it all together.

    FAR - 92 (4/27/12)
    AUD - 96 (7/17/12)
    BEC - 92 (8/30/12)
    REG - 91 (11/12/12)
