So I take FAR this Monday and I am in serious need of a pep talk. I have done and continue to work MC questions out the ying yang(3000 and counting) but I am terrified that I still haven’t done enough. I am so exhausted I feel like crying. I have to pass FAR this time or I lose my AUD on 1/31.

    I am a nervous wreck.

I take it Tuesday, so I'm also feeling the crunch. What's worse than losing one section…two sections!

Either I will be DONE if I pass FAR this time, or I will lose AUD and BEC. Yikes.

What're you guys doing in terms of SIM prep?

@endless Oh dear. I would be totally freaking if I were in your shoes. I can't believe how fast my 18 month window has gone by. I am in serious need of a mental institution already.

As for SIMS I am just redoing all the Becker SIMS.

Good Luck on your exam and best wishes for score release day!

candothis, I know you can get it done! Look at your score history- you always trend upward with each exam, with only one (small) exception, so you'll do it for this one too! It sounds like you've been working hard on MCQs. I felt the same as you before FAR (exhausted and feeling like I hadn't done enough)- I think its a common feeling. Keep up the good work and believe in yourself! Now go earn those three sweet letters at the end of your name!

@candothis and pamdo – I'm doing my best not to let it get to me. My last FAR was a 73 with all MCQ in the stronger category except either one or two that was comparable. SIMS were a different story. Of the six non-research, I got all nightmare SIMS. The odds have to be in my favor this time!

You guys doing anything differently this go around? It appears that the emphasis has shifted slighty from last time, but I have no idea whether thats the case or not.

@candothis @pamdo @endless – take a deep breath and think positively! You can do this!

I learned something the other day. Your subconscious mind takes EVERYTHING it hears as FACT. It doesn't recognize that you're being sarcastic or just talking crazy. Then it takes those “facts” and assimilates reality to match the “facts”. So if you keep telling yourself you haven't done enough, guess what? You'll believe it. (Maybe this is just junk but it makes sense to me.)

I believe you have all done enough to pass. You probably need some rest. Take tomorrow morning off and go get brunch (or sleep in) if you can to give yourself a few hours to relax. Try not to think about the exam for a few hours. Then you can get back to reviewing. (I'm assuming your schedule allows for this. If your schedule doesn't for whatever reason, try to find a few minutes to relax.) I fully believed that I didn't pass the exam until I was in the right mindset.

GOOD LUCK – you CAN do it!!

    I passed in 2012!

    BEC - PASSED - I'M DONE!!!
    AUD - PASSED (finally!!)
REG - PASSED (Twice - lost credit first time)
    FAR - PASSED!

Wow, I am in the same situation, taking FAR tomorrow, last section, failed twice:67, 73, AUD expires 1/31/2013.

Good luck to all of us!

First off, good luck!!! I am a nervous mess myself. I took FAR back in August as my first exam. Thought I passed and moved on to start studying for AUD. I was devastated when I received a score of 74…. I decided that I would take AUD and then continue with my plan of REG then BEC, and retake FAR. I passed AUD and REG, waiting on my BEC score. I was going to wait after busy season to start again with FAR, but I kept thinking if I suck it up and take FAR in the first week of Feb, I could be done with the exams and actually have a life a busy season!

So I scheduled FAR a couple weeks ago for Saturday, Feb 2. I am really starting to regret it. I thought I could cram in 4 weeks and be alright. Busy season has really been taking its toll and much busier than I ever expected. My coworkers have said this is the busiest our firm has been in January in the last 5 or 6 years, just my luck. I've been studying as much as I can but I have forgot most of the stuff from the summer. So now I am killing myself trying to get ready for this Saturday… Hopefully luck is on our side and we will all pass!

I take FAR on wednesday and feel the same way. My first time taking it I got a 71. This time around I feel like I have a better handle on all of the topics but I'm still only scoring 78-80's on the Becker progress tests. If only I can get them to the 88-90's I will probably feel more confident. This will be my last one!!

    Good luck to everyone!!

    B - 77 (11/30/12)
    A - 76 (10/20/12)
    R - 84 (05/26/12)
    F - 71 (07/28/12)

Thanks everyone! I am doing much better today. My exam is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. tomorrow. I usually try to get there an hour or so early. The testing center is small and they have been extremely good at letting me start early if they have a computer open. So this time tomorrow I could be finishing up or half way through the exam.

I have worked really hard and deserve to pass this time. We all do.

    Good Luck everyone!

    I'm going the other way!

Anyone using Becker and Wiley? The Wiley practice test is insanely hard, IMO.

I take it on Saturday. All my exams expired, which is not a big deal. If you passed it before, passing it again will be cake. FAR is a monster. I have this recurring thought in my head, “If they didn't test IFRS, I'd be ready to take the exam now and pass.” IFRS = double the rules/exceptions to memorize. If I fail, that will be the reason why.

@charlie – I hear ya. Between studying the endless amount of exceptions (many of which must be deduced from explanations that mysteriously apply within the context of one question, but not another similar question, without any reasonable explanation or basis) and IFRS…the exceptions are starting to overwrite the general rules in my head!
