Hey guys!

I’m taking FAR on Monday. I feel somewhat prepared but I’m freaking out about possible simulations. What are some possible simulation topics? I don’t know what else to study 2 nights before my test….I’m thinking of focusing my attention on simulation preparation.

What study program are you using? Many of them have simulations in the software that help you gauge what kind of topics they can ask and whatnot. Though, honestly I never feel prepared for simulations regardless of doing them on the software 😀

I'm using Becker but my software expired. I printed all the multiple choice questions before it expired. lol So I'm only studying the book and the multiple choice questions. I know they point out topics that can possible show up…but I don't recall what they are. I know they say to make sure you know the CF and Income statement…but not sure what else they can “possibly” throw at us. 🙁

well I think if I remember the lectures, some things that pop out to me as “simulatable” would be…

Okay so I'm glancing at my becker software and sim's cover…

1. income statement and where things go

2. revenue/expense recognition (i.e. nonmonetary assets etc)

3. Consolidations

4. Plant/Equipment purchase/depreciation

5. Bonds Payable amortization and journal entries

6. Deferred taxes

7. Statement of CF

8. Derivatives

9. Stockholders' Equity

10. Fund accounting

I would have loved to have ANY ONE of florida_candidate suggested possible simulations!! Be prepared for possible curve balls. You'll be fine if you know those MCQ!

I would give you advice but when I got to my simulations I was completely confused. I guessed on almost all of the simulation.I'd focus on the WC. I believe that is the only way I got out of that exam. I did well on MCQ and WC

My FAR sims were nothing like the practice sims from Becker – except for one of the written communications, which was extremely close. *yay love free points*

If you know the MCQ you should be able to handle almost any sim they throw at you. Almost any being said because one of them I got made sense in what they were asking for, but how they were asking for it and the boxes were beyond me.
