FAR on Monday – Am I ready?

Freaking out a bit here.. FAR on Monday, and I don’t feel prepared enough. I have watched Yaeger videos, some of them twice, written a stack of notes 3 inches thick, studied the notes, I’ve done over 1,700 Wiley Test Bank MCQs and at least 75 sims. Since Thursday, I’ve been doing blocks of 30-40 MCQs, one subject at a time, and will be done with that for all subjects by tomorrow noon. I am scoring 70-80% on most areas. It would seem like I’m ready, but I just don’t feel like I have a good grasp on all the topics, there is just so much material in this section.

Does everyone feel this way going into FAR? I felt well prepared for BEC and REG, but not this time. Please, someone, give me a little reassurance that it won’t be as bad as I’ve imagined! And any advice on how to spend my last evening (tomorrow) preparing, would be appreciated.

    REG 11/28/11 - 88
    BEC 04/04/12 - 88
    FAR 07/23/12 - 90
    AUD 11/2012 - 92

I felt exactly the same way going into FAR, and I felt horrible and completely drained coming out.

    FAR -- 90
    AUD -- 95
    BEC -- 82
    REG -- 92

    DONE!

But you did really well – so that's encouraging to me! What would you say I should concentrate on tomorrow?

    REG 11/28/11 - 88
    BEC 04/04/12 - 88
    FAR 07/23/12 - 90
    AUD 11/2012 - 92

I felt the same – all that information starts swimming around in your head and you think you will get it all mixed up when you need it. Normal. (Took me 2-3 days after the exam to clear out my head and stop dreaming about journal entries, discounts & premiums, OCI, leases, and equity vs. cost method!)

Sounds like you are really well prepared. I would do progress tests tomorrow, I think, so that the questions are a bit mixed up. Review any SIMS that you think could cause you trouble. Have your time strategy somewhat mapped out so that you save enough time for the SIMS (at least 1 1/2 to 2 hours, if possible). And get a good night's sleep! Good luck!

    FAR - 92 (4/27/12)
    AUD - 96 (7/17/12)
    BEC - 92 (8/30/12)
    REG - 91 (11/12/12)

Yep you pretty much described the way I felt going into FAR exam. My advice is a good night's sleep and an attitude that you have prepared and that you will do your best. Leave the results to score release day.

I'm taking FAR on Monday too! Good luck, Stella!!

I've NEVER heard anyone say “I felt super prepared going into FAR”, so I really wouldn't worry about it. Deep breaths, and realize you HAVE been studying this whole time so you know what you're doing.

I don't know what kind of final review Yaeger/Wiley has, but in Becker I'm taking the final progress tests and then going over sections that have a lower percentage complete.

I've been told by a few people to know the J/Es for everything, so maybe while going over MCQs thinking about the corresponding J/E :).

Remember there's only 90 MCQ on the actual exam! So with a 70-80% correct in most areas I think you'll knock out FAR before it knows you even started the test :).
