    Hi everyone,

I am taking FAR on Friday. Any last minute advice or things I should focus on based on your experience? I have heard to leave atleast 2:30 for Sims, which I plan on doing. This is my first section that I am sitting for, I have been studying full-time. I don’t know if I am confident or not yet. I have been using Becker and Gleim occasionally.

I took the Becker Mock exams
    1: 78
    2: 63

I seem to struggle with remember every little teeny detail that comprises FAR. Bigger concepts I understand, but when they through in those little details from that one line in the textbook I get thrown off.

    Please let me know!

Trust yourself! You've put in the work and study time. If you are a good crammer then do that. If you need to take Thursday night off then do that. You know yourself better than anyone.

I'd highly recommend taking a break from studying (and work if possible) on Thursday. I was very burnt out at the end and it did wonders for my brain-power and confidence! You are so right that little details are important. Read questions carefully to make sure you understand the question, but be efficient–if you know that you don't know the answer, save time for sims by guessing and move on.

When you're taking the test, don't shut down or become discouraged at the very beginning, even if you feel like you're not doing well, you're most likely doing better than you think. Also, with the Document Sims: remember the the tortoise and the hare, slow and steady wins the race. I know the clock is counting down, but you really need to read the directions and all the support and let it sink in, and then start answering the questions one by one. You might actually find the sims much more manageable than the multiple choice, I know I did. Good Luck!

    – Early today, a few MCQ to keep you on your toes.
    – Organizing your time strategy ahead of time will help. know which points of the time clock to be aware of.
    – Most important, take a break this evening. Rest that brain!!
Being able to read the questions and quickly think things through while controlling the overwhelming feeling is a huge advantage for yourself.

For SIMs, try your best to not leave anything blank, especially if you can choose the answer. Even when you're honestly just not sure, choose your best answer

    Good luck! YOU GOT THIS.

FAR was the exam I just tackled. For me, I studied the morning of the exam. I did this for the other two as well. Last minute review, nothing overwhelming, just looking over those few ‘memorization' topics that I was less than solid with.

I also agree to try to have at least 2 hours for the SIMs. I hit submit with 2 minutes left and there was no time for review. I think I had just under two hours going into the SIMs and had three DRs which are so time consuming. My final set of three SIMs had two of the three DRs and I remember flipping through them after seeing that first of the final three and thinking ‘omg time is running out, let me do the others if they are shorter' and they were LONGER. It was not fun but like someone said, whatever you do, don't get rattled during the exam. Just keep doing what you know how to do.

Out of all the exams I've taken this one was the most challenging despite being very familiar with all the material. It's just SO much. Do look at the questions carefully. Those little details will sometimes make the difference and from my experience, they do test the details. I remember in all of my exams having that one keyword that changes the answer. They'd have the other option, the one you would go with if you didn't catch that keyword, but then they'd have the right answer – the one that you would choose if you caught that keyword, so do be careful and read each question thoroughly.

if you think you studied enough (meaning you feel like you are not completely clueless on any topic) then my advice is to SLEEP AND REST AND EAT RIGHT. Ive taken an exam with a 101 fever since i killed myself to death studying and it was just not very smart to overly stress.

If you need a refresher, i say read those study guides/summaries and maybe 10 questions (5 basic MC; 5 Sim type) per Chapter so if 10 chapters, read up on those 100 questions (10 x 10)…and maybe just read thru SIM answers like its a book since you get more out of it than the actual text sometimes.

Good luck! You can do IT!

    BEC - 68,70,72,75 5/15
    AUD - 78(expired), 77 8/15
    REG - 29,58,65,77 1/16
FAR - 56,68,73 - retake October hopefully (last shot)

Been doing this since 2007 on and off...

Thank you everyone! ‘Twas the night before the big day. Did anyone go in feeling confident? I am trying to trust
myself and just think “You know the material, DON'T LET THEM TRICK YOU”. Here's hoping for the best. I take it first thing in the morning at 8. I will update and let everyone know how it goes.

Keep me in your prayers! haha.

I feel silly for asking but, what are DRs?

Document Review Simulations, where they give you a document with different passages highlighted and you have to choose the best options to complete the text, based on a host of other supporting documents that you have to go through to determine the correct answer. Real fun! 🙂

    HI Kodiak,

You make a reference to DRs. What are DRs?
