taking FAR on Friday, going thru practive test after practice test in the Becker program (progess tests w/o sims). Getting anywhere from 75-90%. Does that sound ready? I am fairly comfortable with sims and seem to do good on all topics except interco eliminations, non-monetary exchanges, and some miscellaneous stupid mistakes. I know I need to READ the darn question better on test day than I do while studying (did the same during BEC studying and more focused on reading on exam day and passed). Any other tips out there for my weak areas or test tips in general? Have Thursday off to study. Sorry if I sound like I am rambling, but I am tired and ready to concur this beast!

    AUD (11) & FAR (10) = 89
    BEC (10) & REG (11) = 78
    Ethics here I come!

I usually aim to get at least above a 75 if not 80. If you have it down to a couple areas, pound out mcq's on those tomorrow, take a retest thursday morning and go from there. that's my plan with regulation at least….

    FAR 7/2 - 88
    BEC 7/30 - 87
    AUD 8/27 - 80
    REG 11/12 - 96

Michelle119. I have a question for you. I took BEC on 10/31. I found the material to be more straight forward than the Wiley questions. There was some stuff on there that wasn't covered on the exam. I walked out feeling the same way I did about FAR. I didn't feel defeated but wasn't 100% sure on all answers. The further I get away from the test and the more I read about how people walked out of the test knowing they had passed and then get there scores back to find out they didn't pass, I start to feel less confident in my perfomance. Did you have similar experience?

Well I didn't know of another71 or that the tests were supposed to get harder before taking FAR. I came out thinking okay that wasn't too bad, did I miss something???? I thought I passed at least, didn't think I got anything much higher than an 80 but was confident I passed. I felt similar after BEC, thought it went a bit worse than FAR but still thought I passed. I think if you walked in there knowing the stuff and being confident, then if you walked out confident you passed you probably did, but then again who knows in this crazy world of CPA exams…. I agree that the review courses tend to be more difficult than the actual exam, but I would be worried they aren't doing their jobs if they were easier than the exam… Just hang in there until score release in a week or so, you'll be fine just stay away from the negative energy out there.

    Thanks,

How does REG feel in compared to the others? I start studying for REG Monday. I think all these exams are challenging in different ways.

It's an enormous challenge for me…. I went from studying all day every day and sitting for an exam every 4 weeks, then I started work and graduate school so I feel like its so hard to get into the material after work and on the weekends and my study time was limited to about 10-20 hrs a week, instead of having nothing standing in my way to study…. I enjoy taxes so that part isn't hard plus my two grad classes are in tax…. law on the other hand, well I don't like it so its hard to get motivated on a friday night after a long week to sit down and learn contracts. the materials isn't hard its just my mindset at this point and I can see the end in my near future and keep not studying anyways. Just keep studying and you'll do fine!! Best of luck in your studies!

michelle119 you are running into the same difficulty I have. I have wondered for so long how people are taking these test back to back like that. Only need 4 to 6 weeks to prepare and now I see why, most probably aren't working full time. I get up at 6AM to try to workout for 30 to 40 minutes. I get to work around 730AM and don't get home until 6PM. I then attempt to put in a few hours of studying. Normally just 2. I try to do the bulk of my studying on the weekend. Its very challenging to do when you have so many other things going on. I am sure you will do well though, just keep plugging away
