    Is anyone taking FAR next week? My exam is on the 15th. After my first try I thought to myself that I wasn’t so terrified to take it, but now I’m super nervous. What’s your plan for the remainder of the week?

    I posted mine in the power weekend thread, but it’s basically to re-read book/notes as needed, redo Becker questions and do some Wily Questions. Review IFRS and NINJA notes next week. Also have to review some smaller arear in Ch.10.

    Anyone else freaking out???

    @Tina,

    I feel the same way. I've been reviewing a particular chapter during the day, then MCQs at night, then onto the next the following day. The plan is to get through all 10 sections of Becker, then cram with MCQs and SIMS until exam day.

    We can do this!!!

    Hey no worries, I go into freak out mode every other day. Scarred to death, but I think we all will be ok when it is behind us.

    Pass or Fail, Hopefully Pass.

    Hi guys, thanks. I'm taking off from work Mon-Wed and leaving early on Friday, so hopefully I can get a lot done Sat-Tues before the exam. One thing that's bugging me is going from cash to accrual income and back. Becker didn't really stress that area and I know it's one of my weak ones. Still have to go through financial instruments + partnerships in Ch.10. Everything is getting mingled in my head.

    Also concerned about SIMS at this point. Definitely not enough time to work through wiley sims so might just have to stick to Becker. I didn't practice SIMs for the other exams and honestly didn't really stress them while going through the material. Hopefully it won't be my down fall.

    @Tina,

    I agree- cash to accrual/accrual to cash is a weakness for me also.

    Anyone have a good tool for this?

    Journal entries are the best way to handle cash to accrual. The journal entries should reflect the changes from the beginning of the year to end of year. The plug is your change. Normally you would add this to your cash basis income. Make sure you master this topic. T-Acct can also be used.

    Also, Jeff has formulas for this in his Ninja notes.

    I'll try to see if there is anything in WTB. I think there is a SIM on this in Becker if I remember correctly.

    Thanks casagarber!

    I second the J/E and T account approach.

    I know the Wiley book has a whole SIM on covering from cash to accrual…pg. 80ish maybe?

    Don't have the Wiley book, but hopefully I can find some textlinks and look over the SIMs. I think I'm missing something when I think about it. For cash flows I was doing everything backwards at first lol. Then I had my “duh” moment and it all made sense.

    Yeah..honestly I spent a lot of time on cash to accrual…Cpareviewforfree has a number of problems that helped me make sense of it.

    @Tina- yeah, definitely let me know which SIM is in Becker for that, if you can.

    @Casagarber- when you say use the T account, do you mean for Cash? Then debit and credit cash for items? My brain is on overload so that may be a stupid question…

    @memmy29

    The cash to accrual SIM in the Wiley book is on page 85 – Basic Theory Module A, SIM number 1.

    I have gone over 1,000 MC in the WTB and have only answered 720 correct for a 71% avg.

    I've done 24 sims and am averaging an 89%.

    I think the sims are pretty easy so I may be lulling myself to sleep.

    The only questions I have not seen are from basic concepts, financial stmts, inventory, FA, CACL, Leases, Equity, Investmetns, SOCF, Business Combos, SALT and NFP. These are all pretty challanging concepts. . .
