What is a good average to have on the MCQ’s on your first time through them? Iknow Jeff mentions 30’s or 40’s but that seems awfully low if you want to end up with at least in the 70’s as your average heading into exam day.

I haven't used Ninja, only Roger. But, as a point of reference, I always tried to keep my “number of attempted responses per question” rate below 1.5. Usually I was at about 1.3.
But that's for FAR only. With AUD, it seems like I'm a bit higher than 1.5, since the questions are non-computational and qualitative and often have two good-looking answer choices.

I wouldn't worry overly much about how you perform on your first time doing the questions. Looking back on last summer, when I studied for FAR, I was *far* too hard on myself when I'd
miss a whole bunch of them in a row. Or even ones that were supposed to be easy. Then, at some point in one of the lectures, Roger said “Don't worry if you miss some on the first run. Leave yourself enough time to go back over all of the questions (1700+ of them) a second time and THEN that's when you should be understanding them fully.”

I got a 62 on FAR last month. I'll be retaking it later in the year. I got burned out on studying the last few weeks before the exam. Had that not happened, I would have passed. I also did no practice exams or anything. Leave yourself time to go back over all the MCQs a second time and you should be all good. People post all the time on here about trending scores and I don't think they have a lot of meaning because usually people report that they've passed the section despite having trended with low percentages on Becker/Ninja/whatever, immediately prior to the test. And some trended higher but still flunked. The correlation doesn't seem to be anywhere near 1:1 for the average person.

I typically averaged around 60% the first time through. But 40% was not uncommon (bonds, leases, gov). I used Becker the first time through then I moved to Ninja for my review so I never re-worked questions again. When I moved to Ninja I never trended above 69% but I aimed for quality over quantity (as in I didn’t worry about how many MCQ’s I did I just made sure to learn from each one) Going through the far MCQ’s the first time was incredibly painful but it gets way better when you become familiar with the material. This is coming from someone who took the exam 2 years after college and basically forgot everything about financial reporting!

Kinda depends what section of FAR. NFP and Framework I was trending around 65-70%, but Rev recognition and Govt trending like 40%-50% for the first go around. Im currently trending 66% overall but want to try and get that into the low 70s before exam time

I have no clue but I'm Averaging and Trending at a 71 right now and I'm taking the exam Monday, sooooooo I'm praying that it's enough.

    I was Averaging/Trending at 69/70 for REG and I got a 79.

I am hovering right around the 50% mark average through about 450 questions so far. I still have time though. My test is scheduled for 3/9 and I am trying to do approx. 60 MCQ's a day and give myself a whole week to review. My goal is to be averaging around 70% and trending 80% by exam day.

30%-70% first time thru (straight to mcq, no prep, study, etc.)
My goal was getting over 50% lol. It went up gradually, and I think average of 5000 attempted question was 70% at the end

Materials: Wiley book + Ninja MCQ

    FAR - 83 (Jan 2016)
    Study time: 6 weeks
    BEC - 87 (April 2016)
    Study time: 2 weeks
    AUD - 92 (July 2016), (74 Feb 2016), (72 May 2016)
    Study time: 4 (Feb) + 2 (May) + 3 (July) = 9 weeks total
    REG - (70 April 2016)
    Study time: 3 weeks

@mhei8116 That's my goal. Shoot for above >50% on average. Trending is not a good indicator until you are almost to or at review stage. Overall the FAR MCQ take a long time. I am attempting to keep my average around the 1:30 mark per question. Takes notes on missed questions/areas struggling on after doing 20 set sessions.
