    Less than 36 hours till the exam – can’t believe it’s so close. Doing last section tonight (cash flows). My plan for tomorrow:

    Review my notes + ninja notes (this will take a while as I have a lot of my own notes)

    Review GAAP v. IFRS

    Look over all the SIMs (not actually work through them)

    Look over recently released AICPA questions (for 2011, 2012, and 2013)

    Random mcqs as needed for anything that seems confusing or I always get wrong

    Any last minute tips? Thoughts on the plan for tomorrow?

    @Tina: you can do this! You have studied hard, put in the time. Have some faith in yourself, you know much more than you think you do. Get a good nights sleep and rock out on FAR tomorrow!

    Prometric was very busy today, started an hour late.

    MCQs:

    Testlet 1: relatively stright-forward

    Testlet 2: not sure, but seemed harder than 1

    Testlet 3: killer

    So I'm not sure if 2 was medium with hard questions or hard with some medium questions.

    SIMs: Awful; out of the 7 SIMs, 5 were on obscure topics, research was easy, 1 was on something I covered but it had a weird twist.

    Won't bother predicting scores as I have no idea. SIMs were more foreign to me.

    My advice to whoever is taking this, leave a lot of time for the SIMs. I had just under 2 hrs and used every minute of it.

    @Tina,

    Sounds like the MCQs went well. Definitely good to get it over with, I'm sure. I'm super worried about the SIMS…they've killed me on the past FAR tries 🙁

    memmy the SIMS were very bizzare, don't know how else to describe them 🙁

    I'm going to try not to think about it over the next week.

    My sims were bizarre as well. They were marginally easier than the Becker ones, but one made little sense so I'm hoping that was a pre-test. Can't wait another week!

    @Tina,

    Closer to Becker or Wiley SIMS? Did your journal entry studying help?

    @Tina84 – I noticed there are Becker links to exam questions released by AICPA on earlier posts. Did you practiced any of AICPA exam questions?

    @memmy, JEs help for both mcqs and the SIMs; I was often using JEs for solving mcqs in Becker. Don't skip any material in Becker, make sure you have everything covered.

    @Daria, I looked them over. I know the 2011 questions have been incorported into Becker (I've seen them there before) but the actual aicpa becker release has more extensive explanations for some of them. Not sure about the 2012 or 2013 as I have the 2012 software. Those questions are considered “retired” (ie. not used on the exam anymore) but I think they're great practice. It's only about 50 questions in each I believe. Definitely won't hurt.

    @Tina, thanks. I just realized that I shouldn't be asking you for info as you're probably trying to not think about it (I know that after-exam feeling). I'm totally freaked out because you seemed very prepared and didn't have a good exam experience. I hope you get a passing score next week, or I think we'll both be doing another round of studying! I'll keep my fingers and toes crossed.

    J/K- I'm sure you did great 🙂

    No problem memmy. For the mcqs there wasn't really anything I haven't seen before; everything with very few exceptions was familiar at the very least. The SIMs were just out of the left field as people on here say. I would feel better if I got different SIMs I think. I'm just not sure about any of them with the exception of the research. For the 1st 67 even with no studying I was able to give it a good try. For these it took me a while to figure out where to even start.

    @Tina,

    I hate when they're very wordy. It immediately freaks me out. It also makes it difficult to figure out where to start, so I know what you mean.
