Hi all! I am new to the whole cpa exam & studying. I’ve applied for FAR as my first one bc I figured I’d might as well dive into the biggest one first. Maybe that wasn’t such a good idea. I started studying this June. And it sucks. I feel like I am going at a slow pace. And I am already stuck on Modules 1 & 2, so it’s discouraging. Bc I don’t think I will ever learn all of this and then retain this stuff for the exam. I am using Becker self study. I watch the lectures first. Then try to skim the chapter in the textbook after taking notes with the lecture video. I’ll attempt the skills practice & they’re hard. Then I fail the MCQs and redo them until I get it. And move on, but I feel like I’ll forget the MCQ. I don’t know. This is painful. Far worse than I thought. I just can’t believe I know nothing it seems. Thinking about cramming the last week with NINJA NOTES. Any thoughts?

I definitely wouldn't recommend cramming the last week – you'll be setting yourself up for failure. (I'm sure you know that already). You just started studying for FAR (I did too, and yes it does suck). But don't overwhelm yourself. You're going to get a lot of questions wrong when you study, but get them wrong now so that you don't get them wrong on the real exam. Look at getting a question wrong as an opportunity to find the right answer. Getting questions wrong when studying doesn't mean you'll get them wrong on the real exam. Learn why you got it wrong so that you get it right on the real exam. Starting something is always harder than finishing it. FAR is my third section and I notice with each new section I procrastinate for weeks to start studying cause I don't know the material. You just gotta stay positive and have faith you'll pass (if you put in the work to pass).
