I know JE are key for passing FAR. For those of you that have passed and used Becker, how did you study? I’m feel the JE in Becker are pretty incomplete in terms of the complete picture. Would you recommend referencing old textbooks/internet or did you just focus on the JE provided in Becker? Thanks!!

    FAR - 97 (Dec '13)
    AUD - 99 (May '14)

I do not know if i've passed FAR yet but i would recommend writing down the journal entries that you find in the MCQ/SIM answers, they help complete the picture for you.

I had a master list of journal entries and just kept copying them over and over again.

    BEC: 93 4/18/13
    FAR: 89 7/3/13
    REG: 90 8/30/13
    AUD: 95 11/29/13

    DONE!

    +1

I just took FAR on 8/31 as well, and (as with AUD and REG) the Becker sims are fantastic representations of what you actually see on the TBS portion (as well as the MCQ). The j/e are in line with what is required on the exam (account descriptions).

I highly recommend reviewing the sims after completing all the sections in their entirety (lectures+MCQ+sims). Additionally, as I go through the homework I like to ‘mark' each MCQ that I miss as well as good ones that I got correct so that my final review will let me test just those questions.

Someone suggested keeping a notebook just for journal entries and I am doing that this time. Whatever it takes!

I sure hope I passed FAR, I had a 1 or 2 JE related MCQ's but thats it. JE's was was thing I was worried about since I wasn't sure how good of a handle I had on them. I lucked out with SIMS, but don't think I'd have the same luck if I had to take it again…in case I do have to retake FAR, taking notes from this thread on how to approach studying JE's…

I have always sucked at JEs.

During a piece of my FAR exam on Saturday, I seriously had to stop for a minute and think “wait, debit cash means……. cash goes up or down? Do I credit cash to get it higher?” https://mlkshk.com/r/79TQ

nbad311: Love your gif! That is exactly how I feel right now with this exam and FAR. I'm having so much trouble getting back on track and focusing.
