Just got out of taking FAR today (Wednesday) !!!

AND YGTBSM!!! Normally I go about blasting on this site about how hard it was and have ending up passing (Thank God!), but this was something else.

Multiple Choice; Varied, but overall fair, I noticed that the focus seemed to be on certain topics. It went from medium, to hard, and to really hard and I had to C my way out of more questions then I cared too…

On the simulations; WTH? It was a who’s who on the “fringe” topics!! I left 2 tabs nearly blank because I had no idea what they were talking about…

I had thought about rescheduling for March, but even if I did, the simulations were a complete disaster. No matter how horrendous the score, I am going to put it up when it comes,and sadly, the studying continues…

Even so, I wouldn't be so sure you failed. I have heard of people who passed FAR with a 75, but still a pass, by doing only the MCQs and the memos. Didn't even touch the simulations.

I just received my score for FAR taken on 1/2/10. I did the first simulation ok, but had little time to do the last simulation. I skipped to the Communication and Research tabs, and did them. Then I just clicked in the boxes with a last ditch effort for some points as time expired…..I got an 82.

Dont be discouraged. You may still pass, especially if your testlets got harder as you went(good sign that you were doing well). Just try to focus on the next section, if needed, and stay positive.

Wow…..FAR is my last exam and I just rescheduled it from 2/27 to 3/8. I am NOT ready for it but still want to take it as a “wild swing in the dark.” I only have one more period before I lose credit for REG (which expires 5/31.)

I did sit for the Yaeger review course (all day for two days) but have only practiced MC questions on 5 of the chapters.

I'm still gonna take the exam but I don't my strategy is to TAKE IT…..and hope I pull a 75 out some how. One common thread I hear from A LOT of folks is that you can walk away from an exam FEELING like you failed….and wind up with a 75!

I took AUD in Nov. and felt like I did GREAT on the exam only to wind up with a 74. A friend of mine who took REG in Nov walked away in tears knowing she failed, began to restudy for REG during December….only to learn that she got a 76 on the exam……and she has NO CLUE how she passed. I told her that a lot of her MC “guesses” must have been right!

Did anyone else get that exam with those “fringe topics”, topics that were wayy off anyone's radar???

Yes, I got topics on sims and MC that were NOWHERE in my Becker material.

Did not get “fringe topics” actually got the same sim as the one I got in Oct/Nov window.

that happened to me last time when I used Yaeger so I switched to CPAexcel and this time the test was much easier; it still was hard do not get me wrong but just not as bad as the first time when I left the building with PTSD

I used homestudy and cram last quarter but maybe it was that blasted toothache I got two days before the exam that made me fail……..

I like phil a bunch…..just not enough to watch him anymore so I switched it much to keep it interesting….cpaexcel really does a quality review for GOVT
