Just took Becker practice exam #2 in less than three hours:

    63

    73

    60

    SIMS average 82 (range 66-100)

I know, I know; I need to slow down and use all of my time. But what do you think? Do I have a shot at passing?

I would spend more time practicing MCQs and reading my notes than working on SIMS. I would pick my weak topics and try to get 75-80% correct. Good luck.

I would pick up your weak areas/via reading/multiple choice. If you know the concepts, you'll do fine on the sims… also, from a person who has taken every exam now, outside of a research question, you might get one or 2 sims that is identical that are related to what you saw in your testbank.

Mini bumped a good post recently about time management; which can make or break you on the FAR exam.

Just know you should devote 40% of your time to the simulations. That's around 1.5 hours. You will probably need every minute. Don't let Becker condition you to think that anything less than 1.5 hours is acceptable.

With that being said, I think you have a shot at passing if you manage your time on the actual test.

All I would say is don't expect the sims to be like the ones in the final exams in Becker… those were a breeze compared to the actual sims I saw on the test.

    Thanks Becker!

Thanks for the advice everyone. As I'm going through the results, it's looking like IFRS is a big weakness for me…that will be challenging to nail in two days, but I'll work on it. 🙂

@Texas, are we talking about length of SIM or obscurity of concepts tested?

The concepts weren't that bad… if you have done Becker you will probably know how to do most of the stuff they ask you for. I had one sim where I had no idea what to do because Becker didn't cover how to do what they were asking. Other than that though, all of the sims are doable they just take longer than the majority of the Becker simulations.
