    Hey friends,

I have FAR coming up on Saturday the 23rd and, unfortunately, I have put in roughly ten hours of quality study time thanks to starting my career with an early busy season (thanks to a client with a 3/15 filing deadline). I can only blame myself, however, for the lack of devotion to study time, but I I have to ask whether anyone has any final-week tips for topics to focus on. FAR contains enormous breadth and little depth, so topics likely vary from test to test, but does anyone have any suggestions for someone in my position?

I would love to push it off further but this is the final weekend of my NTS, so I’ll be giving it a shot on Saturday no matter what happens (at least I’ll finally get a Saturday off work)!

Is there anything that you would have done differently (besides studying more)? I’m banking on the possibility of receiving questions which address issues that I am knowledgeable, but I’m not getting my hopes up at this point.

    F - 81

    DONE.

I am in a similar situation as yours except I still have the entire weekend (my exam is next Tuesday) to study. i am planning to work on one practice exam per night, assuming i can study three hours a day at least, and learn from the questions I get wrong. There's no time to watch lecture/read concepts/do simulations anymore. I am gonna just dive into the world of MCQ and hope for miracles…

Thanks for all the replies! My exam was yesterday and I am 99.2% sure that I did not pass, but I feel confident that I can pass it next time around. I didn't think many of the questions were too difficult, or at least they wouldn't have been had I studied appropriately. We'll see in a couple weeks exactly how poorly I did! I know I got the research sim right, so I should get at least one point!

I put myself in a similar with the cma part I,studied 5 days, ended up with 290/500. I managed to get over 50% of mcq which is the requirement to go on to the sims. I would practice some sims from each chapter and not bother with mcq. It ll be a good experience for u regardless. Good luck and I'd like to know how that will go for you. haven't took FAR yet so not sure but I can relate.

I can't believe this is over! 2 years and 3 months..

As expected, I did not pass this time around. I totaled around 13 hours of total study time, decided not to cram the night before, and instead went out with some friends. I do not recommend taking the test with a massive headache and dehydration!

I ended up with a 66 and somehow scored “comparable” on the sims. So, better than expected, but a failure is a failure no matter the score (in my opinion).

I'll be re-taking the exam at the end of May, so next time I'll try to work on those study habits…

66 with 10 days of studying? Not bad! You are on your way to becoming a CPA! Hang in there…

What Getting a CPA said. 66 is a great score for hardly any studying imo. Come up with a good study plan and you're good to go.
