FAR in less than 2 weeks. Why am I not freaking out?

    Hey everyone,

So I passed 2 exams after studying for 11 weeks straight, took a couple weeks off to recharge and started my 6 week study plan for FAR. Now I’ve got less than 2 weeks to go for FAR and I feel like I’m not where I should be mentally. By this point with my other two exams, I was really cracking down with the studying and getting psyched up for the exam. This time, I’m just not feeling the pressure. I’m still rolling through my study plan, right on schedule, but I’m missing that sense of urgency. I dunno if it’s because I’m on track with the study schedule (whereas with the other two I was behind by this point) or the fact that I’ve passed two so I KNOW that my methods work.

Either way, I’m fishing for some motivation to push through to the end. I keep telling myself that I need to pass this thing so I don’t have to take it again and that FAR is a different beast and I can’t get complacent about this exam, even if I did pass two others using the same study strategy.

On the other hand, maybe it’s a good thing that I’m not stressing out? I’m not convinced.

Has anybody else felt this way before an exam? Any advice on how I can snap out of this? I NEED to pass these last two freaking exams!

Btw, I’ve been scoring about 70% on my practice exams on WTB.

I'd say your feeling confident based on your exam scores… just know that FAR is usually a “beast” for most people. I took AUD first and thought I could steamroll FAR based on my score in AUD lol. Yea, well we can see what happened there, it was tough for me.

    FAR - 84
    AUD - 94
    REG - 86
    BEC - 86

@finne – I am in the same boat! I'm 9 days out and I feel *OK*. Not GREAT, but OK. I will crank hard for the next several days of course, but the panic I felt with the first three has subsided. Partly because I am more comfortable with the process and partly becuase I have come to realize no one (including me) will *die* if I don't pass this the first time around. So go ‘head, have that second glass of wine as you go through the last 100 MCQs of the night… !

I had that “loss” of motivation for my last exam (REG) but that was because I felt burnt out from studying for the tests over a ~6 month window. You passed two exams so you clearly know what study techniques benefit you so keep on doing that and stick to your schedule.

    Becker
    AUD: 98 (4/13)
    BEC: 84 (5/13)
    FAR: 91 (7/13)
    REG: 91 (8/13)

Thanks all for the input! I will keep this all in mind as I keep working those darn MCQ and drilling down on my weak areas. Guess I'm mostly worried about being too overconfident so I'm going to keep that in check. There's no denying that FAR is a beast!

The good news is that I'm not feeling burnt out like I was right after taking my previous exam. I'll have to watch out for the burn-out when I turn my attention to BEC after this one.
