I’m scheduled to take FAR July 16th and feel like I can’t even move forward from the first Module! It could be my own OCD issues to try and make sure I know everything from one section before I move on but if I do this I will still be on Module 9 when it’s time to take the test. Help! I don’t know what to do. I want to just move on and follow the lectures and do the homework questions but I don’t feel like I’m really learning the material for it to stick and if I go through and write everything down I will never move forward. I started studying May 7th and have been stuck in a standstill. Getting very discouraged. Anyone else taking FAR in July and are using Yaeger? Maybe we can keep each other on track.

@tjones43 and also everyone else, are you now just watching the lectures and going through the mcq that cindy and Phil go over in the book? I just finished 9a and havnt done any mcq yet except for the ones they go through in the book. I cant decide if it would be better to just continue watching the lectures and taking slight notes and then after that go back and do mcq.. i do agree with what @eaptlm05 teaches says about reading is waste of time unless you just looking to freshen up on a subject. I was thinking about trying to watch as many lectures as i could during the weekdays and then on the weeknds going doin the mcq for those modules and take more in depths notes. I am also using yaeger, jeffs ninja and audio notes. I honestly have no idea how i want to go at this right now…….

@D21- For now, I watch the vidoes, then do the assigned MCQ before moving on to the next module. While I'm watching the video, I take notes. I try to pretend that it is a live class and that it would be rude to zone out. I also pause everytime they do a MCQ and work it myself, then unpause and watch how they solve it and take notes. I do the MCQs to break up the monotony (especially on the weekends when I am studying for an entire day) and to reinforce the concepts before moving on. I know it isn't the NINJA method, but it just makes me too nervous to move on without at least attempting the problems. Some call it inefficient, I call it repitition?

@eaptlm05- That is a really great idea. I might try that for my next module. Gleim recommends that you do a 20 question ‘diagnostic quiz' before starting each of their modules, but I never thought to combine that methodology with Wiley/Yaeger.

Well I fell off the studying wagon entirely and am pretty mad at myself. Each day turned into another where nothing was accomplished and now another week later and I've only just begun Module 11 lectures. Now I'm thinking about just knocking out all the lectures and then on the weekends doing all the assigned questions for whatever I watched during the week. I was hoping to be done with all the lectures by June 11th so I can start going back and taking all the notes that I need to write down to even slightly grasp this material. Unless I don't sleep this week I don't think that's going to happen considering I'm only the 4th disc in out of 15. But it's worth a shot. I need to stop being lazy and unmotivated and get back to it full speed. How does one get up at 5 am or earlier? I need that ambition because that's the only time I can get peace in my house which will allow me about 2 hours of actual quiet time (after walking the dogs and before getting the kids up for school). I also need to start taking that hour lunch and making it count instead of sitting on worthless facebook or youtube. Ahh what has become of me. I need to grasp that bigger picture again!
