i have FAR in 1 week. I am half way through F8 in the Becker review. I still have to go back and review my notes on the other chapters. Do you have any advice? can it be done?

I think it sounds like you are on track. Those are just my thoughts. They weren't directly related to you. This is an exaggeration, but it seems like some people want to know how to pass the exam with their eyes closed and not studying. In my opinion, if you went to school for the credits, paid for the review course, paid to register for the exam, and want to be a CPA…. put in the time in and pass if you really want it.

I don't care if people take it 10 times. Was offering “tough love” type advice.

I had completed around 2,000 MCQ's with 7 days left. Towards the end I was pounding 100-150 questions per day. And making sure I understood what was going wrong. I would only use the book at this point to get clarification on stuff you are not testing well on. Hit the MCQ hard! !

@ Excel , it always took me time to ramp into the 100-150 MCQ's per day. I got more focused, would carve out more time and just tend to go faster because I was learning as I went.

No worries, I wasn't offended by the comments Credit Revenue, I just knew I was in trouble, if I needed to be doing that many at this stage of the game. @6silvermoonbeams, I am averaging around 60 per day now on old material, and am scheduled for my test on 5/27. Not feeling great, as I'm still scoring around 60-70 in Gleim, on things learned prior.

Excel – you have plenty of time. I tended to do all of my studying within 5-6 weeks as I found it hard to keep it all retained and ‘bundled' over longer periods. Be careful about hitting a point in time where you have memorized the answers. That skews your score and progress.

Excel – You have plenty of time. Ramp it up in the last 3 weeks. A pace of 60 a day with that much time is way more than I have ever done. 2500 of the 3000 I mentioned were completed over the last 2 weeks.

Thanks to you both. I guess with this volume of material, and what I feel I've lost from the memory banks already, the typical paranoia is setting in. Lol. By the way, I just started reviewing old stuff yesterday, so the 60 per day has just begun. I still have about 450 from the first 9 chapters that I've never seen. Just had no time to do a comprehensive review, but I am desperately trying to fit one in each day now.

I suggest you to start practicing. Do as much as MCQs you can. You have only one week so you need to practice a lot. Which CPA review are you using for practice? Have you taken any mock exam so far ?

I have done about 800 MCQs in the Wiley FAR test bank over the past week or so, and my average is a disgustingly low 60% right now. I just can't seem to retain all the information and there is so much of it! I have a little over three weeks before the exam, but I'm already not feeling good about it. Please someone tell me this will start sinking in at some point soon?! I plan on getting the Ninja MCQs to supplement, as they really helped me out with BEC. I'm hoping I can somehow still pull this off…

Are you spending time reading the explanations? It wasn't until I slowed my pace to read and understand WHY a question was right or wrong, that it really started to click. Otherwise, you run the risk of just memorizing answers. Also, does your 60 average include repeat questions? If no, then you may be doing better than you thought. I used Roger, but I scored between a 65 and 70 as an average on just about all of my sections and still passed. I spent time during my review reading answer explanations to the ones I got wrong, but I didn't actually redo them because i didn't want the repeats to skew my results.

@jdn9201 – I have been reading the explanations and taking notes along the way. No, I haven't done any repeat questions. Like you mentioned, I also don't want those to skew my results. I figured I will go through all of the Wiley questions once, review my notes, and then get the Ninja MCQs and hopefully I will start to see a better score on those. It's just so frustrating and discouraging right now.

@ASUalum, it comes together, trust me. It will. You have a month left practically. I think I was at 66 avg 3 weeks out of my test. I would KEEP DOING sims… If you get it wrong, go back and do it again to make sure you'll get it right. I don't think redoing the questions would be that harmful as it reinforces your learning of the material and it'll help. Positive reinforcement!
