FAR: Feeling Frustrated - Page 3

Hello everyone, this is my final day before taking FAR tomorrow afternoon and I feel frustrated. I have the Becker materials for 2014 as well as the Final Review materials, both of which have gone through the lectures, MCQs and simulations for. However, some topics like Governmental/NFP accounting, Pensions, Bonds, SCFs I have a good grasp on and consistently perform well on those questions. However when I work on other like nonmonetary exchanges, foreign currency accounting I am constantly coming up with the wrong answer despite thinking through and writing out J/Es to what I thought was the correct answer.

I really do not know what to do. I want to enter tomorrows exam confident that I can hold my own and ultimately pass, but I feel that I am missing that one or two additional ingredients that will ultimately put me over the top. To those who felt similar before, what was your approach in the final days or hours before your exam that took to ensure a passing grade or to relax yourself from pre-exam anxiety to stay focus on the exam?

Thank you in advance for the responses, hope you all do very well on your exam and ultimately pass the CPA exam 🙂

@DWlefty13 I know this post is a couple months old, but Study Monk's advice is not ideal if I have anything to say about it :/

However, you just have to keep at MCQ for FAR… For me, I could read over stuff 100 times and think I know how to do it, but then when I apply what I know for calculations, I learn it by MCQ.

    AUD: 84
    REG: 84
    BEC: 79
    FAR: 83

Sam – well I think study monks response was honest. I'm not saying to only study a fraction of the material, that's just dumb. But if you have gone through 6-8 weeks of study and still have weak spots one more day of pounding them is probably not going to do much, while increasing stress levels for the exam. I tend to agree with him that FAR is an exam that almost nobody goes in knowing everything, it is just too much material for most of us. Too many nooks and crannies where little deposits of information hide and the AICPA will be bound to dig up. In final days leading up I focus on my weaknesses almost exclusively….but the final 24 hours are super light for me…reading notes a few times, some NINJA flashcards, a good dinner and a couple glasses of something to help me sleep the night before. Everybody has their own way to tackle the CPA exam and this exam in particular….gotta do what's best for you…
