Hello everyone, this is my final day before taking FAR tomorrow afternoon and I feel frustrated. I have the Becker materials for 2014 as well as the Final Review materials, both of which have gone through the lectures, MCQs and simulations for. However, some topics like Governmental/NFP accounting, Pensions, Bonds, SCFs I have a good grasp on and consistently perform well on those questions. However when I work on other like nonmonetary exchanges, foreign currency accounting I am constantly coming up with the wrong answer despite thinking through and writing out J/Es to what I thought was the correct answer.

I really do not know what to do. I want to enter tomorrows exam confident that I can hold my own and ultimately pass, but I feel that I am missing that one or two additional ingredients that will ultimately put me over the top. To those who felt similar before, what was your approach in the final days or hours before your exam that took to ensure a passing grade or to relax yourself from pre-exam anxiety to stay focus on the exam?

Thank you in advance for the responses, hope you all do very well on your exam and ultimately pass the CPA exam 🙂

Thank you to everyone for the support and confidence booster much appreciated. I did some light review of general concepts of each chapter before heading to sleep. I will keep you all posted tomorrow with my FAR exam experience and how I felt. Again best wishes to everyone on their upcoming exam(s) we are on our way to a CPA.

@Stovy40 I felt the exam was long and exhausting today and the exam gradually got harder as I continued but I had the basic concepts down well enough to confidently select an answer or come down to the last two before an educated guess. As I mentioned on the FAR experience topic I thought the simulations were challenging not from the difficulty per se but more from the time you had left, the fatigue as you go and all the different components the simulations had.

Hopefully in a couple of weeks we both do well and pass. This looks like your final one so I wish you the best and hopefully your celebrating in a few weeks that you passed the CPA exam. Best wishes to you.

Thanks, DW! I wish you the best as well, and I totally agree about the SIMS. I think what few brain cells I had left in that last hour were overwhelmed by the volume of data I was expected to process, not necessarily the difficulty of what the tasks were asking for. Good luck on your journey…hope to see good news from you come February 25ish. 🙂

Yes, I felt that before my exam– I wasn't doing as well on my practice tests as I would have liked, and I was starting to lose confidence. So I stopped doing MCQs and focused on the material again so that I could build my confidence back up. I walked out of the exam feeling borderline about it, like I would either get a 74 or a 76.

About a week before the score release, I realized that I had been comparing myself to a perfect score, since that's what WTB does. But the actual test isn't scored on perfection– it's based on that complicated rubrik that they came up with that involves how other reasonably well educated people do, with different values for different questions, etc. You're not being compared to a bunch of 100 percenters.

I started feeling better after that (and got a good score), but I wished I'd realized that earlier! It would have helped my confidence.

So try to learn the material, but don't stress about needing to feel 100% on all of it.

Oops, just realized the OP already finished the test. But maybe this will help someone else!

    AUD 84 (1/9/14-Wiley books/TB + free materials)
FAR 83 (5/21/14-the above + NINJA 10 Pt Combo Lite)
    REG 84 (7/9/14-Wiley books/TB + NINJA Audio/FC/Notes)
    BEC 76 (10/5/14-Wiley books/TB + NINJA Audio/FC)

    Hey guys,

I'm about 2 weeks away from taking FAR and my review process is basically going through all my flash cards, MCQs and simulations again, and then go through the 2 practice exams for Becker. I feel like I barely remember anything from what I've studied before my review. I'm currently working on F5 MCQs. So far I feel like I'm trying to relearn everything, I feel like by the time I get through all the MCQs and simulations, I'm not going to remember how to do them again. Feeling very stressed and worried if I'll be able to know enough to pass by May 15. Any advice?
