FAR: Feeling Frustrated

Hello everyone, this is my final day before taking FAR tomorrow afternoon and I feel frustrated. I have the Becker materials for 2014 as well as the Final Review materials, both of which have gone through the lectures, MCQs and simulations for. However, some topics like Governmental/NFP accounting, Pensions, Bonds, SCFs I have a good grasp on and consistently perform well on those questions. However when I work on other like nonmonetary exchanges, foreign currency accounting I am constantly coming up with the wrong answer despite thinking through and writing out J/Es to what I thought was the correct answer.

I really do not know what to do. I want to enter tomorrows exam confident that I can hold my own and ultimately pass, but I feel that I am missing that one or two additional ingredients that will ultimately put me over the top. To those who felt similar before, what was your approach in the final days or hours before your exam that took to ensure a passing grade or to relax yourself from pre-exam anxiety to stay focus on the exam?

Thank you in advance for the responses, hope you all do very well on your exam and ultimately pass the CPA exam 🙂

You will probably be fine considering that your likely not to see more than one or two questions in those areas. Maybe 1 out of 7 sims if you are unlucky. Not that many people go into the FAR exam knowing 100 percent of the material perfectly.

I spoke to an ancient wise man who sent me on a mushroom induced journey through an ancient forest to find the key to passing the CPA exam. A talking spider monkey told me to throw the last of my drinking water in the dirt to find what I was looking for. So I followed his instructions and the following message appeared in the soil:

"Do 5000 multiple choice questions for each section"

@Study Monk thank you for your words of wisdom. There is so much material I dwell on the topics I struggle with rather than focusing on the whole agenda. Best wishes to you on your upcoming Audit exam

    @DWlefty13

For me, I did my complete last minute review with Ninja note.

If you have the budget, I would buy them.

Stop doing anymore MCQ and concentrate on simulations.

Go over the J/E on your Becker materials.

    FAR-82!
    REG-82 Again!
    BEC-78!
    AUD-84!

Done with the exam and LICENSED in VA as of 11/17/2015.

@AOCI I actually have the NINJA audio and NINJA notes, both of which has been very helpful in me learning the material for FAR. Hopefully it all comes together on Monday, I feel burned out studying the last couple of weeks

@OP I think the stress is harder days before the exam, and feeling not well prepared is kind of normal. Be confident with what you know, relax and do your best tomorrow. If for any reason you have your notes, review them to keep fresh all the concepts in your mind and go for it! Good luck

@DW I am in the same boat…almost down to the topics that I feel confident about and the ones I do not. Best of luck to you tomorrow, as I will be trying to slay the FAR beast in the morning. Let's pass this thing and move on!

    AUD - 90 (07/05/13)
    REG - 87 (08/29/13)
    BEC - 84 (12/02/13)
    FAR - 82 (02/10/14)
