I’ve been wondering, while waiting for my FAR score… did I do something wrong?

Was it okay to leave completely blank lines?

The FAR simulation provided FOUR lines to make a simple TWO line journal entry….

My top line had an account and amount Debit

My second line had an account and amount Credit

I left the other two lines blank.

Were they trying to trick me or am I missing something?

The simulation had four lines. There’s NO WAY four lines were needed….did I do something wrong?

I’ve been an accountat for 12 years and, trust me, I know my debits and credits!!!!!

    Thanks

I had extra lines left blank too. They probably do that to trick you.

I had kind of the same question when I took FAR. I was worried about leaving a blank in the Credit column when making a debit entry. I was worried that I should have entered a zero in the credit column when making this debit entry instead of leaving a blank. I hope that makes sense.

But I believe the software is “smart enough” to know the difference.
