    Hello Everyone,

I have been stalking this website for few months now (well, when I have freetime). Anyway, I think I just need a little assurance (if its legit to say that)..My exam is scheduled for May and since I scheduled for it, everything seems not helping me. I have 2 little ones ( a 2 yrs old and 8 mos old)..the week I scheduled for FAR, we all got sick for almost 2 weeks, then week after my husband got sick, took him to the hospital, and today my mother in law had an emergency heart surgery. Arrrrgghhh… I plan to sit down tonight after putting the kids to bed and study. Is the time I have will be enough to cover the FAR till May? Should I skip the lecture video and just do the MCQ’s? Any replies will be highly appreciated.

This is my first exam and I would not want to reschedule it. I have Yaeger homestudy materials but havent open it yet, and I have NINJA which I started reading while at the hospital lobby today.

Sorry to hear about all that! I think many people here can empathize.

I feel your pain to some extent. About a week after I signed up for my first exam (AUD) I came down with mono (wth??) and was out for over two months, lol. I also have a 2 year old and a 4 month old, and a wife that needs support if she's going to maintain her sanity through all of this. You're definitely not alone, and many have taken on this exam with challenges every bit as big as yours and mine, and get through ok. So don't despair!

That said, you've got about 6 weeks to prepare for FAR. If you can somehow manage to put in about 3-4 hours (average) of quality study time per day from now until then, you should be ready. I recommend enlisting that husband of yours for bath time, story time, and whatever else he can do to help with the kids. Otherwise, wake up as early as you can for some good quiet study time. At this point, 1-2 hours a day probably won't cut it, unless you've got some college courses very fresh in your mind.

As for lectures vs. MCQs, I'd say that's up to you. However you learn best, go with that. Personally I prefer MCQs (for some reason lectures cause this mysterious sleep to come over me). But after lots of MCQs, I can identify my weaker areas, then I do the full review of those sections – lectures and all.

    Best of luck to you!

    AUD - 79
    BEC - 88
    REG - 87
    FAR - 86 - Woot, all done!
    Ethics - 100

Thank you tbstew for the reply. I will definitely hit that 4 hours a day quality study time (or more).
