For those of you who are taking FAR at the end of November (23rd for me), how are you holding up? I’m starting to get very nervous. I know I have a week to cram and I am taking Friday off of work, but I’m worried. I can’t know everything!!!!

@Rocky I take it a week from Saturday. I am getting nervous and overwhelmed as well…with FAR, you're not going to know everything, just make sure to know the “big” topics (i.e. govt, nfp, bonds). I've taken FAR more times than I'd like to admit and every time has been different. It truly is luck of the draw. Do your best, stay calm and stay focused. We WILL do this.

Why do you think you didn't pass FAR previously? Did you just get bad tests? Or did you still have weak areas?

1st time- I went in just to see what would happen, basically…It was my first test ever and, in retrospect, I didn't study enough

2nd time- Got a 74. So…who knows. I felt prepared and really good about it.

3rd time- Thought, oh I got a 74! I only need one more point, I'll just study for another few weeks and nail it! Obviously…didn't happen that way haha.

After the 3rd time, I left it alone. I was burnt out. Went on to pass AUD and BEC (on the first try!), hoping to continue the streak with FAR. I think it also should be noted, that when I was taking FAR I was also in Public during busy season so studying wasn't at the top of my “to do” list. Since I've left Public I have passed every exam I have taken 🙂

I've put in a lot of time for this exam. I sacrificed a lot of time that I could have spent with my boyfriend and family. If I don't pass, they will all disown me.

The kicker is, I still don't feel prepared.

You will never feel prepared for FAR. I think people that feel prepared go in over confident, in my opinion. For my second exam I studied my butt off, then got a 74. I was so pissed. Now I am studying even more, have 2 kids (1 newborn) and a supportive wife…but I'd like to, ya know, spend time with them lol

I am in the same boat. This will be my first attempt. I am finishing up the Sims as we speak but they are so time consuming.

Ive heard big topics to know are:

    1) Bonds

    2) Leases

    3) NFP/Governmental

    4) IFRS comparison

I will be taking it Tuesday Nov. 25th

What advice do you all have for this last little bit of studying? I have to make sure to make every second count, as do we all.

The good news is, I just got the BEC 2.0 & it looks a lot more manageable.

I would love to share compiled resources/ Tips & Tricks

Know NFP and Govt for sure. Other than that, I wouldn't necessarily say that one more topic is important than the other. Everything can be tested. On my last FAR exam, I was surprised that some of the major topics only had one or two multiple choice questions.

That's what makes FAR so difficult. So much material to know and no idea of what will actually be tested.

Govt and NFP for sure…I always study bonds, just in case I get a JE sim or something (which has happened lol). IFRS maybe?

Yea I'm taking FAR on the 23rd as well. I think I might actually be going crazy. I keep going over things in my head periodically throughout the day. I'll be at the gym, waking up, or eating and I'll randomly be like “Wait, whats that JE for bond issuance again…oh yea”. But yea I don't think you can ever feel ready.

It doesn't help that I have an ex-friend praying to God that I fail my exam. Said person would start going to church if I fail.

Omg guys taking the exam on the 25th! It's my first time to sit for FAR and I feel nervous. I am trying to finish up 8&9 by Sunday and chapter 10 by Monday. I still need to do ALL the sims in the other chapters. Then, I was thinking of memorizing formulas, going over JEs, then tackling my weak points (bond and equity) one more time. I don't feel ready but I don't want to move my test to January. For those of you who used becker AND took FAR already, do you think becker is enough?
