    Hi everyone,
I am new to this blog, but I have read lots of your posts and discussions. I am currently study for FAR. I just failed my last attempt in October. It’s very hard for me to study with two little kids at home. I know I am doing something wrong since my last score was so low (I got a 50). I have done lots of questions, but I did not read the concepts really well. After I got my test result I realized that I need to go over again, chapter by chapter. I am using Roger CPA and I just purchased the ninja MCQs. Currently, I am reading the chapters, taking my own notes and then I go and I work the MCQs ( which I have done before). In the end, I will go ahead and work on the new ninja questions that I just got.
Any other thoughts, ideas, suggestions are really appreciated. I want to pass this section and Bec before April 1. I am going back January 10.
    Thank you!

I failed FAR twice, November 2016 and more recently October 2016. I think my biggest mistake was taking the MCQs after each chapter but not really doing a comprehensive review before the test. Also to caveat, I have been out of school for 12 years and have not seen accounting theory in quite some time. Next time around I will do multiple reviews that way the information is fresh and I don't forget the information. Try to isolate yourself at home for a couple of hours as best you can so you can focus on studying and concentrate. Best of luck to you.

I'm taking FAR in January too. Also using Roger. I feel reasonably prepared at this point – like I might be able to crack about a 70, which is not passing, so between now and January 7th I am filling in the gap. Apparently the FAR exam is the one that's supposed to have the least changes in the new (April) version. Which is why I wish I'd left it for last…hindsight 20/20. I've found that repetition is the best way to learn this stuff. FAR is the hardest I think, and a lot of people have told me that. If you don't get it the first time, you get it on the second. I've debated buying the Ninja products but haven't yet because I'm waiting to see how well I can do without buying any more stuff.

I'm in a similar position. Taking Far on 01/20 and BEC on 03/10. Almost half way done with the Becker far material and do not feel confident at all. I plan to to study just like I did for the other exams. You need to constantly obsess over the material, Writing out all the questions and concept you get wrong, and keep taking progress test. The two week review period of full blown cramming will be key.

I'm at the point where “When am I going to finish this whole process?” is not even on the radar. It's gonna take all of 2017 and probably well into 2018 unless I get really lucky on the scoring. I've always sucked at test taking and in the few computer-based tests I have taken, I've performed badly on almost all of them. I wish there was the option of doing pencil-paper version of the test…how hard could that be to grade? The SAT and MCAT are both done on paper. Anyway, time to stop bitching and time to bury my face in Roger's FAR textbook.

I hear you all! I am on a strict schedule. I study at least 1-2 per day and more on the weekends. I read the book and I keep writing notes. I am determined! I am also out of school for the last 12 years. I started this journey 8 years ago. I took all 4 sections, I was really close in AUD and REG. So, i figured I want to pass FAR first and then BEC (since this is the part that will change the most). I scheduled FAR 01/10 and I am am going to schedule BEC end of February.
Ninja MCQs look good! Actually, really close to the real test that I recently took. I am planning to use this for my review. Also, before I went for the exam I was not doing well on the review (big sign I ignored). Now I know if I don't get at least 70 and up, there is no hope!

So, I haven't study or work for the last 8 years (I created my family after my first attempt 8 years ago). Right now I am able to start working again, so I really want to finish what I started!
