    Hello everyone,

I am taking FAR in 10 days (my first exam). I have been studying for about a month and half and am running 80% on most quizzes in the Wiley Test bank, but getting my head bashed on TBS. I don’t feel like I have great command of the concepts and would ideally like to study a bit longer before taking the exam but went ahead and scheduled it before the 2017 changes take effect. Should I put it off or go ahead and give it a shot?

    Thanks in advance

That's awesome. I saw a thread about how your Becker score correlates to the exam. I wonder if Wiley is similar….in which case you got this.

Appreciate it KatiB, hopefully the MCQ scores are indicative of how I'll do. I'm also going to work TBS a lot over the next 10 days and hope my scores improve. I need to get this FAR beast behind me!

I am also taking the FAR exam before the changes (March 10) and using the Wiley test bank. This will hopefully be my last exam and I have used Wiley TB on the others. If you are scoring in the 80s you are doing well. I would not re-schedule the exam if I were you. For the Reg exam my Wiley score overall was a 75% with 74% of the questions attempted and I ended up with an 84% on the exam. I feel like the Wiley questions are more challenging than the exam and prepared me well. Just keep at it and give it your best shot on exam day. The worst that could happen is you have to retake it in the next window.
    Good luck!!!!

RWCPA – good luck to you on 3/10! I hope you blow it out of the water and finish this thing. I will stay the course, as after reading a couple of posts I like my chances. As you said, even if I fail it's not the end of the world.

Whatever you decide to do, the changes to FAR aren't going to be dramatic from what I understand. 72 MCQ instead of 90, and 8 SIMs instead of 7. Not drastically different from what it's going to be after April 1st. It's AUD and BEC that are getting the major overhauls. Obviously, if you yourself feel that you're ready, then do it and don't think twice. Not sure if there are any seats open in the testing centers now, but you could always check the Prometric website every hour and see if a seat pops open. People cancel all the time.

FAR in 10 days from tomorrow. Dear god help me. About 65% through the NINJA MCQ's first time around and have done a total of 1,295 questions so far (some “missed from last time” so I can keep older topics I studied first fresh in my head). Wrote NINJA notes 1x and read 2x. Heading into final 10 days I plan on getting through most of new questions and hitting missed last questions hard, write NINJA notes again , read again and practice about 10 SIMS in certain topics. For FS accounts sections, I took my own notes so plan on reading those and grasping them well enough where I can work any MCQ problem from them. Hopeful my CPA exam journey will be ended on 3/10 and I can kiss this place goodbye. lol jk but I think everyone else feels the same.

    Hello guys,

I've been reading comments and using this forum as help for my preparation to pass the darn CPA exams.
Today what motivated me to take 10 mins of my time and post for the first time are the new changes of the exam content for Q1. STUDY THE NEW CHANGES ( INVENTORY VALUATION METHOD & NON-CURRENT DEFERRED TAXES) I WAS HEAVILY TESTED ON THIS CHANGES INCLUDING A SIMS FOR THE NEW INVENTORY VALUATION METHOD. I was thrown at least 10 question on this changes.
Consider this as a warning, no an advice lol..

    Good luck to all!!
