I am planning to take up FAR at the end of November.I was just wondering that, whether 2 months is enough to study FAR? What is the average time needed ?

    Any reply would be appreciated.

It all depends on how many hours a week you can get int and how much you can get done in at that time. I believe it is recommended that you study 120-140hrs in total. You should have time if you study effectively and efficiently during that time. Best of luck!

    FAR 7/2 - 88
    BEC 7/30 - 87
    AUD 8/27 - 80
    REG 11/12 - 96

I know of cpa candidates who have passed after only 6 to 8 weeks of studying. However, it took me 5 months of studying to pass FAR.

Yea you can do it no doubt by the end of September. I personally think I needed only a couple more days and I studied for 5 weeks (90 hrs – estimate). The last 2.5 weeks I was studying about 25 hrs a week while the first 2.5 were more like 15 hrs. I would definitely say take really good notes! I am not sure what material you are using, but I would do about 600 MCQ's – some people say more, I did about 400 (we will see how I did, do not expect to pass thats why I would say a little more..). A little food for thought… if it was me I would not schedule anything after thanksgiving, do you really want to leave your last week of studying until all your family is around and distracting you? I know I wouldn't…

    BEC: 73,81(7/6/2010); AUD: 75(5/24/2010); FAR: 76(8/31/2010); REG: 77 (10/18/2010) - DONE!!!!

    Rathi-

Which part of India are you from? I'm from Poona and used to know someone with your last name.

A combination of Becker and Kaplan. I got the Kaplan materials in 2009 as part of a free promotion and ended up using them quite a bit. I was struggling with certain parts of BEC, and they were better explained in Kaplan. But if you have an MBA in Finance, you'll likely have an easier time with the Finance section. Good luck!
