    Hi guys,

I just got my Becker study material in yesterday and was planning on taking the FAR exam the week of August 20th, do you think it is adequate time to study and prepare for the section? Any study tips that worked for you guys would be appreciated. How realistic is the study planner that Becker provides? How many weeks should I leave for review? Thanks for all the input in advance!

I definitely think it is enough time to study. I started studying for FAR using Becker on April 24 and my exam was May 30. The last 10 days before the exam I was off from work so I did a lot of cramming in that time and got through all of the material and MCQ and sims. Just make sure you do all of the MCQ and understand why you get them wrong. Also, I wrote notes on each chapter of the main points and reviewed that as well. Good luck and I'm sure you are going to slay the beast that is FAR.

Thank goodness it's over... Now on to the next step...

Depends on your situation. I work full time and am taking FAR, my last section, august 14th. That gives me about 56 days to study. If you don't work and can study all day you probably only need about 42 days.

Generally, you should spend about 5-7 weeks studying for FAR. Any longer and you will start to forget material.

A tip I have used is print out a calendar from outlook and write out the sections numbers on everyday leading up to the exam. So you should have a number on each day that you plan on studying and Final Review on the last week or so. This will allow you to track your progress and make sure you dont get too far behind.

I've taken FAR already and failed by two points so I know the sections. Typically you will need to spend more time on sections 2,5,6 and 7. Sections 1,8 and 9 are relatively easy and not math intensive. Sections 3 and 4 are inbetween in difficulty.
