I’m going into my 3rd take on FAR and I need some help with IFRS. I have Becker, wiley and ninja notes so I am wondering if anyone knows of any good websites or any supplemental info that may have good notes on IFRS vs GAAP differences?

I would highly suggest the GAAP vs IFRS appendix by Becker at the end of every chapter. gives you a very good overview of the concepts and solidifies your understanding.. when are you sitting for your exam?

I used Becker, it did work for me. The summaries at the end of each chapter are very good. One advise though… I was using 2 colors to highlight (both the book and my own notes):

– yellow for USGAAP

– orange for IFRS…

Whenever I went back to my notes, I went through the rules, and it was very easy to distinguish between the two…

Good luck, FAR is a big test, no doubt…

Definitely agree with the other peeps that Becker's end of chapter summaries are a must. If you have Becker of course. I ripped out each summary and made sure I read over it frequently and definitely reviewed it the day of the exam. Also, the NINJA notes have a good review section for IFRS too.

I did the same. I combined all the end of the chapter IFRS info and then studied it as a whole instead of separately with each chapter. Somehow doing it that way helped me keep it straight in my head. Becker did a great job compiling that info ( at least in my opinion!)

CPAReviewforFree was definitely helpful in my experience. Additionally, I'd recommend the traditional suggestion of flashcards.

In terms of strategy, I created about 40 notecards for IFRS, and made sure to memorize key differences between IFRS and GAAP. During the exam, If I didn't remember a difference between IFRS and GAAP [for any given subject], I simply answered the question as it would be under GAAP.

I am def going to look over the becker IFRS differences and do cpareviewforfree. Thanks! I just want to make sure I get enough practice because last window I would say about a third of my questions per testlet was IFRS related and a lot of things I was seeing for the first time. I just didnt feel prepared enough.
