FAR dilemma

I’ve taken FAR 3 times and each time I got a 71. I have been using Becker for all sections and for whatever reason just cant get over the FAR hump. If I would have passed FAR when I just took it in January, I would be done, but instead I got my 3rd 71 and now I lost credit for REG. I’m going to retake it in mid-may, and was wondering everyone’s thoughts if I should stick with Becker or try something new to get a new take on things, a friend of mine switched from Becker to CPAexcel for REG and got 13 pts higher and is now done. I’m just concerned if I switch to something else, that I would have enough time to learn a new system in time. I don’t want to waste time re-watching lectures/reading if I don’t have to. Especially since I’m in busy season now. But I guess something just isnt working with me using Becker for FAR…Thoughts? Advice? Help? Thanks!

Try the Yaeger Cram for FAR. Take notes like crazy and then rewrite the notes. That's my .02 worth but that's how I passed it.

Kricket, are you waiting on your last score? Miss everyone's blogs. I am just beginning FAR study. I have passed BEC and AUD and now waiting anxiously for score release for REG this week.

@Dallas9 I got a 73 on FAR just using Becker. The second time around I didn't watch one video. I bought the NINJA notes and Wiley test bank. I studied the NINJA notes like crazy and worked MC questions in Becker and Wiley test bank. My second scorer was an 84. Becker has a lot of extra material you don't need to know. The NINJA notes trim the fat on that extra material. Also, the Wiley questions are a lot easier to understand than the Becker MC questions.

@Dallas9 Also, I didn't work any simulations. It's a waste of time to study simulations. As long you have the concepts nailed to answer MC you'll have enough knowledge to tackle the SIMS presented to you on the test.

Do you know the parts that you are weak at?

    @ chairmanmeow

I know that I'm weaker in Not-for-Profit. Everything else I was comparable with, and Stronger in Governmental. Its just the SIMS that get me. Even though I felt somewhat decent about them the last time, they always seem to give me trouble.

SIMS get you in what way?
