I did the AUD Cram and the AUD full course and I found that the cram covered almost all of the stuff the course did but just quicker.

Do you recommend getting the full course for FAR or getting the Cram only?

I used both the Yaeger CRAM and HomeStudy for FAR. I would say the main difference between the 2 is the CRAM did not go over hardly any MCQ's or Sims, and there were a few topics they skipped over and had you read on your own. I have been out of school and the accounting world for a while, so the extra help from going over topics and problems in detail was of great benefit to me. I did allow myself 4 months of studying, so 51 hours of lectures wasn't a big deal. However, the CRAM is less than half that length.

The only MCQ's I used were from the Wiley book and testbank. I contemplated purchasing Gleim, but now I'm glad I didn't spend the money. I found Wiley to be more than sufficient. There are a few errors in the questions here and there, but overall it was fine.

so considering i'm not the smartest person in the world, and i have taken the exams a few times each, would the Roger Cram along with the Wiley test bank and sims be sufficient enough to have the practice along with the knowledge to possibly get through the exam?

I was wondering the same thing. I am taking Becker in-class review, but am wondering if I should take get the final review was well. Will it really be worth it in the end? I purchased the Wiley CPA Problems and Solutions to do extra questions. I guess I just need to know if it will benefits outweigh the cost in this situation.

Any kind of advice would help me out greatly. I take the exam in a month and I'm extremely nervous.

    Gonna Pass in 2012

    FAR - 2/24/12
    AUD - 4/6/12 (68 in 08)
    REG - 5/23/12
    BEC - 7/13/12

I believe that the Becker Final Review was the difference between a pass and a fail in my experience. I purchased the Final Review for all 4 parts along with the Becker online course. When I took FAR, I didn't have enough time to go through the final review and missed it by 2 points. I did the final review for the other 3 and passed them all on the first try.

    AUD - 80
    FAR - 73, 76 done!!!
    REG - 92
    BEC - 79

@ hopeful – I don't know anything about the Roger Cram, but I would think any Cram would be sufficient as long as you take the time to really go over the suggested MCQ's and SIMS on your own.

In my own experience, I enjoyed the extra hand-holding the full course did especially with going over the problems. But then I purchased the Cram because I learn best by listening and watching, but didn't have time (or patience) to watch the full course again or fast-forward through the parts I didn't need to watch again.

I think you will have to weigh the time/benefit of the shorter course versus the longer course and make your decision that way.

I used Roger Cram for BEC, dont know my score yet, but it was really good. I used it with the exammatrix software for mcqs. I liked Roger so muchI purchased the full AUD class which I take on 2/28. Rog is funny in a n accounting way.

    Reg 11/15/2011 - 80
    Aud 02/28/2012 - 81
    Bec 05/31/2012 - 78
Far 08/31/2012 - 83 Do you believe in Miracles, YES !!!

@Prayerfully_a_ CPA – Becker final review really helped me out a lot. It hits the high points in the lectures and the MCQs ties everything together nicely. I didn't figure out that the final review was helpful until later (obviously from my scores). It is what I used to study after I failed and it helped me get those few extra points I needed.

AUD 92 (now expired FML), retake 2/27
    BEC 87
    FAR 73, 73, 78
    REG 70, 74, 75

Count me as ANTI Final Review, which if anything, wasted precious time in my final days of preparation. I felt it was a cliffs notes version of the full course, with minimal new information. Without the Final Review, I would have focused my final days shoring up my weaknesses. Instead, I spent hours in lecture hearing a summary version of topics I was already versed upon.

If not because of the Final Review Cram, I don't think I can focus on REG and passed.

So I'm putting the same hope with FAR this time…
